West side institution. I've seen so many amazing talks and music shows. The food and beer is always stellar. Best of Cleveland.

The bar itself is killer and is vintage mid-century (at least) blue collar variety. Good beer selection, build your own dogs, tots, vegan friendly. There's usually a band playing, so it's not really a good place to go if you want something quiet, intimate, or chill, which is more my speed.

This place is hipster hell. It's so hip you make out your own food order and hand it in because they really want nothing to do with you. Snooty hipster joint. Having said that, I give this place four stars 'cause the food is quite good. The only things that stops this place from getting five stars is that the hot dog buns literally fall apart when you pick up your dog. If it weren't for that, these would be perfect hot dogs. Worth visitingso long as you don't mind hipsters looking down their noses at you.

Doesn't look like much sitting on the corner, but inside they are serving up a unique hot dog dining experience. Mark off your combination of their interesting condiments and toppings to sit atop your hot dog/burger/fries/tots and get ready to eat! Live music and cheap beer to boot!

I love happy dog and go almost every time I'm in cleveland. Great value and good atmosphere. Incredible variety of toppings for the hot dogs. And delicious vegetarian dog!

My experience at Happy Dog was great. It was my first time in Cleveland and we just needed to grab something quick to eat. Luckily, we found Happy Dog. Not only are the hot dogs goodThe fries are GREAT! There is so many choices of toppings and sauces. I would highly recommend Happy Dog!

The hot dogs were good, and fries were edible, but the atmosphere was lacking. It's a music venue that seems to cater (and have employees interested in) a very narrow music taste that did the match our own taste. It's not offensive, but also not interesting.

Good build your own hot dogs with great variety of options. Good tater tots with a variety of dips and toppings. Pleasant if somewhat rusticated decor. Pleasant staff

Google told us this was a local favorite and Google was right. We decided to try it out and we were very pleased with the service, the speed, the price/value, the beer selection and the delicious hot dogs with any topping you can think of to pile on. The bartender/server was very attentive and inquisitive asking about our travels through Cleveland and beyond between serving other customers. Highly recommend!

Their hot dogs are FANTASTIC! I highly recommend their homemade crunchy peanut butter (specifically the Michael Symon's favorite: peanut butter, neon relish, and sriracha). It sounds weird, but is fantastic. In any case, they have plenty of toppings to pick from, and you won't be able to eat more than one in a sitting (well, most won't be able to). The hot dogs are specially made for them and are absolutely wonderful.
They used to only serve hot dogs and 'tater tots, but they've added fries to their menu. When you get a side, you can add any of the dipping sauces you want at no additional charge. Add one of the beers from their great selection and you've got a satisfying (though not particularly healthy) meal!response / report this review -

Great dogs, great beer, great tots! What more is there to say? Happy Dog is a Cleveland original, and a classic. The staff is always friendly and laid back, and I always leave happier than when I walked in.

Love the atmosphere and the beer selection was great! Food was great as well; I'm not normally a hot dog fan but I would definitely come back, they were that good! Highly recommend this place to anyone in the area.

The line can be long but the it's well worth the wait! The Happy Dog making process is entertaining to watch and the hot dogs taste even better. You should def let the chef make the hot dogs all the way and enjoy each intricate part of the Happy Dog.
