If was just rating the adventure swim that my grand daughters did I would say 5 plus. But the experience of the rest was not good at all. Appearance overall was not very well kept. No sting rays or sea lions for us to see. No afternoon shows. Realize it was during the winter but when I called that should have all been shared information. And there should have been a greater reduction in admit price for us.
Very cool and unique place for seeing marine and other animals. Our kids love coming here and seeing the dolphins, penguins, sharks, turtles, sea lions, parrots, flamingos, rays, and more. They also have dolphin and ray encounters and a cute show with birds, cats, and dogs. It is fairly expensive though. Not the sort of place you'll visit more than maybe once a year.
This place is amazing and most definitely got our money's worth. Me and my boyfriend paid for the dolphin encounter which already included the general admission, and the encounter alone was perfect. Being able to be close to a fascinating beautiful animal like that was breath taking. They take amazing pictures of you kissing the dolphin and stuff but it cost $30 for ONE picture which was disappointing because we wanted to be able to show our family what we did. That was the only bad thing, prices for the PERFECT photos. Great staff, animals, good quality pictures, shows, and overall amazing experience.
Great place for the entire family. They make learning exciting and fun. My wife is in a wheelchair but the staff was awesome doing everything they could to accommodate her so she could do the dolphin encounter and swim . Very friendly place for people with disabilities. Everyone is so friendly. Thank you Gulf World.
The Royal Swim made me feel like a real life aqua man! With 2 dolphins under my feet pushing me above the water, it was a great experience! However, I do think more people would buy the photo package if it was less expensive.. $45 for 28 photos, no way.
We did the dolphin encounter. There were 7 other people there. You pay for a half hour with a dolphin and "free time" but only get about 10 minutes if your lucky. We found a coupon on line and saved 35 percent so that was good. The encounter itself was very informative and fun. The grounds were kind of run down but still neat to see all the animals. the two really bad parts were the price of pictures and the customer service at the snack area. The price of pictures I think is way too high. I realize they are in this for money but I think you could still get money if you dropped the price some like a lot. We went to the snack area outside, I felt she was rude and very unfriendly. she was short with us and very curt. The rest of the staff was very friendly and informative. I would recommend it just surf the web for coupons
My wife and I brought our 5 year old and 3 year old. The 3 year old was excited with the animals we saw. My 5 year old noticed how the upkeep seems to be falling behind. Everything is less than clean. The turtle next to the shark tank had NO water.
YOU CANNOT SEE THE DOLPHINS UNLESS YOU PAY TO SWIM WITH THEM OR CATCH THE DOLPHIN SHOW.
It's very sad to see the dolphin/sea lion show while there sits 2 cages with dolphins in them. Way too small. The shark tank is a big circle, but way too small as well. My wife and I both left very heartbroken for the majority of the animals here. You can see that the money that's being put back into this place is either misguided, or doesn't exist. The staff were friendly and informative, they seem to enjoy their work, that was refreshing to see. This seems to be a situation where the minimum is being supplied to the staff and animals so someone can extract as much cash out of it as possible.
This place is absolutely amazing. We booked the Dolphin Adventure, and were not let down. Our trainer was Racheal, and she was super nice and funny. Our dolphin Maya was the sweetest thing in the world. It was worth every penny. I highly recommend for everyone to try this place out! Not to mention the animals seemed so content. Their birds weren't caged, and we were able to feed and pet sting rays. A+ experience!
My boyfriend and I paid $54 online ($24 each plus tax and fees). Considering that we've been to multiple aquariums, I would say I wasn't impressed with much of anything but the shows. Gulf World is doing alot of construction. Some of the exhibits looked like they needed repainting, cleaning, and repairs. You get what you pay for. The Dolphin Show, Sea Lion Show, and Bird shows were all entertaining. The food is inexpensive we got nachos for $3.50 and ice cream for $2. Overall, Gulf World is making an honest contribution to PCB. The best thing to do is start early so you can see all the shows which run from 10am until 3:45. I give it 3 stars because it was just good enough. Nothing spectacular, but fun nonetheless!
Had a wonderful time!! We did the encounter with seals package and it was definitely worth it! The trainers were very professional and kind and you can tell they love what they do! The park has many different animals to see and their dolphin show was awesome!
If you do the dolphin experience beware that the high price doesn't include photos. That's not really out of the norm, but the price to get your pictures is absurd! And the bigger the group the higher the price. If you do group photos, ask to break up the photo groups so you don't have to pay for everyone just to get a picture of you and your spouse or kids. We had 7 in our group and for us to get a picture that had my spouse and me in the photo, we would have had to pay for ALL 7 people in our group. That would have been over $250!!!! It's a complete rip off. We ended up buying individual pictures for the two of us and it cost $89 plus taxes and fees. Just keep that in mind as you shell out large sums of money up front for the dolphin swim. You get hit on the back end as well. Oh, and people not participating can be observers and take pictures, but they are positioned so that the money shots can only be taken by their photographer. To be honest, it felt dirty and shady and kind of ruined a cool experience with the caged and captive dolphins. Also, there are some sad animal enclosures making you wonder how some of the animals have a better life here versus out in the vast ocean. I've seen better aquariums at seafood restaurants.
Had a great time with the family here. For 45 dollars both of my kids had pictures taken with birds, snakes, dolphins and a kiss from a seal and sea lion. For 30 my son was able to swim with the stingrays. It was a blast. The shows were nice and if you start early you can easily hit them all since they run twice without feeling rushed. They offer a Military discount and other discounts if you book online. For an entertainment park the food was actually pretty good and not overpriced. The staff was also amazing, taking the time to answer questions and very approachable. If you're looking for something to do for a day in Panama City Beach I'd recommend checking out Gulf World. The only downer was that the stingray encounter was not covered by the photo wristband.
Great place overall. Shows are really good and staff is great. Best to see all shows to get money worth. Only reason not giving 5 is because of cost of photos and the fact they don't let you take your own when a photographer is there. This is very different than any other park we have been too in Florida.
