  This place is wonderful both the food and the atmosphere feel exceptionality refined. Without being in any way elitist. Warm and inviting with high quality perfectly prepared steak.

  Was here on a Saturday. I had the prime rib with mashed potatoes and vegetables. The portions were average size and the food tastes good but not great. My girlfriend had the shrimp bruscetta pasta which she liked very much and was a nice portion. Our waiter was very engaging and personable. The atmosphere was charming and there's even a gas fireplace to add to the ambiance.

  I usually don't write reviews, but felt I had to after my visit this evening. The service was poor, beer was mediocre, and the food was terrible. I got a Queso Pork Grinder. The pork was so disgusting I am curious what part of the pig it came from. It was like chewing a piece of rubber. I tried to bit into the sandwich and it instantly fell apart. There was visual fat in much of the pork and it had a sickly grey color. After realizing I hadn't eaten little of my sandwich after we asked for the check the waitress offered to cook me something else. As I have two children who were finished eating this would make our visit much more stressful. I declined. With all of the excellent restaurants in the area do not waste your time or money at this one.

  I've gone there numerous times as part of a Meetup for philosophical discussions. The service was friendly and attentive but not overly attentive. The background music was pleasant but not so loud that yelling was necessary to converse, a pet peeve of mine.
  I'm not a beer drinker so I can't speak to that but the mixed drinks were well made. The bar food seemed to have been made by a cook rather than frozen then fried. The place had a cozy neighborhood feel with service,a bar and kitchen well able to compete anywhere.

  We had a beautiful experience eating at Gray's Tied House! This was a random stop that turned out to be great. Awesome staff and an amazing setting.

  I went for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Fried pickles were so good. Lots of vegetarian options you can substitute a Black bean burger patty for any burger. Waitress was very good with her service. She was very helpful on what to eat and drink. Nice big bar and outdoor seating.

  Ordered cheese curds and the pulled pork sandwich on a pretzel bun. The bun was soft and good. The BBQ sauce was good and had a smoky taste! The pork was tender but had a few chewy pieces but enjoyable. The cheese curds were good and I received a good helping. The waitresses were very friendly!

  The food was okay but the server wasn't very sharp. She turned in our order after taking orders from at least two other tables. I'd go back in a pinch for the food but my expectations are low. Some of the beers are drinkable but you won't likely want to take any home with you.

  Deep fried cod excellent! Lightly battered. Cornbread good. Saltwater aquarium just above my table. Waiter very good also.

  Very disappointing. Beer is good, but food and service were poor. Everything was cold. At least management reacted well when I showed them that my prime rib was raw in the middle.

  Have been here many times. Other than an occasional unsociable/uppity bartender it's always been a fine experience. Good drinks, good food. Came in around 9pm on a Sunday for food to go for several people. Not happening..Kitchen closed at 8:30. Seriously?!? Seems a bad choice, maybe they're not losing business, but seems a little extreme to me. Took our money elsewhere.

  Great local restaurant. Good beers, but mostly their own, so the selection isn't quite as broad as some other places. Food is great. The staff have always been ridiculously friendly and helpful. I got the fish fry once and they comped the meal not because there was an actual problem, but just because I personally didn't like it and didn't eat more than a couple bites. Last time we were there, we got the brew mix (no longer on the menu) with zero hassle.

  We visit quite often and it's always a great visit. The cheese curds are the best in Madison in my opinion. The black and tan onion rings are crispy and the sauce is the best thing I've had. Mondays they have a b1g1 on burgers, they have a deep fried pickle one and a bacon one which are great. Their beer is all made in house. Sundays they have a bloody Mary bar with all the selections you could want as well as a home made spicy vodka or bacon vodka
  This is always a great choice.
