My stay was much longer than anticipated. While on the 8th floor I was treated with kindness and caring people. The experience was the best it could be under the circumstances. Having a room with a view of sunrise each day made it extra special! Margaret A Mayfield

I was here for surgery and the nurses and staff were excellent and attentive. The facility is new and well maintained. We had a good experience here.

The Doctors and the Staff was the best experience for me I would certainly recommend this hospital to all my friends. They care about you and your health. I am so happy My Dr Nolen and Dr Day is part of Grandview. Thank you for a job well done,and the staff was Great also Thank You

My experience here was better than any experience I had, at previous hospitals around the Birmingham area. I was here 4 days and the doctors as well as nurses were very attentive to my needs as well as my family's concerns. I highly recommend this place to anyone who has to undergo surgery in the future. They didn't let me down in any way.

I was scheduled for a tilt table test. They asked that I bring someone to drive me home. I live alone and that just isn't practical. I called 3 days before my appointment and explained my situation. The nurse said that's fine, they'd just have me sit around until they thought I was good to drive.
This appointment requires fasting for 6 to 8 hours before the appointment. Mine was at 1PM. So no eating after 5AM. I go to bed at 9 so nothing until after the appointment, 17 hours.
I show up, register and am escorted to the test area. Then they ask for my driver. I have none based on the conversation I had 3 days earlier. They said it puts the hospital at risk for liability and refused to give me the test.
First, fasting tests should be scheduled early in the morning. Second, if they require drivers test should be scheduled on weekends when people aren't working.
Third, that will be a cold day in hell the hospital doesn't care about what works for the patient.

What an awesome place to have a baby. The nurse's we're top notch. On the ball, knew their stuff. We wanted for nothing. An alarm would go off and BAM someone would be in the room. Place was clean, organized, efficient. The level of care was exceptional for my son and daughter in law. The needs of the baby we're met and exceeded all our expectations.

My 8 year old son was scheduled to get tubes put in at 6:30 am. We arrived at 6:00 am. We waited 4 hours before surgery and then an additional 3 hours after. They took several adults ahead of him into surgery which I don't understand considering the early appointment. I am very dissatisfied they have not taken in consideration he is a child who has not eaten in 24hours and is lacking sleep due to the early appointment. Vetenarians treat animals better then the treatment we have recieved here!!! I am sure they don't want me here as bad as I don't want to be here after I have voiced my opinion!!! I would go to Cooper green downtown if it was still open before I return here!!!!!!

My gastroenterologis sent me to the ER. A Friday night, there were 2 other patients in the waiting room. I was vomiting, had stomach pain and needed assistance to walk. They left me alone for 3 hours with no help. I could understand if they were busy, but no. I ended up going to another hospital where I was taking care of. The staff was very unprofessional and boarding on neglect. I would not recommend this hospital to anyone. It was more like a bad Saturday night live skit than a hospital.

Hard to decide how to rate this place. Saying it's better than other area hospitals is like saying you prefer the smell of a fart over the smell of poop, take your pick. The entire campus is non smoking which isn't a problem for me, but literally you have to leave the property to smoke which would be annoying and seems ridiculous even for a non smoker. Saved the 'best' for last though. The night shift Hospitalist came to my father's room at 11pm and prescribed him a drug that not only is he allergic to, but wasn't even the drug he meant to prescribe. It was to treat a bladder issue which my dad is having no problems with, he's here for a heart problem. Luckily for my family, my dad knew he was allergic and refused the pill. If this had been an unaware patient or clueless elderly patient it might not have worked out so well.
Grandview has a lot of work to do, but still the best option in Birmingham. And hey, no metal detectors at the entrances!response / report this review -

My emergency room visit was very well done. I was taken in promptly. Services rendered and I was released to my primary care physicians care. Professional curtious and expeditious.

Outstanding care for me after 3 visits. Two at the ER & one test. The Hospital is Beautiful & clean. The ER personnel & Doctors are exceptional & caring. The test was handled very well & Lena did a great job as the Nuclear Medicine Tech. Overall I think this is an EXCEPTIONAL Hospital.
