I had the best experience for my visit to DCH. I had a very caring Nurse and Nurse Practitioner. I would like to thank Palmer and Daniel for taking such great care of me. I feel like they did everything possible to get me feeling better and to find out what was going on with me. They just went above and beyond for me and I truly appreciate the efforts that they went to. Both of them were very kind with great bedside manners and that really goes a long way. Thank you both again for taking such great care of me. 😁

since the moment i walked in everyone there was so rude to me. the doctor talked to me like i was stupid and said i had absolutely nothing wrong with me as i was sitting there crying in so much pain. she told me to just go home. she spoke very rudely to me and grabbed my head and threw it around asking “does this hurt does this hurt does this hurt” and as i replied “yes yes yes please stop” she didn’t. she didn’t gently move it around to see where the pain was, she jerked it very hard in all directions. i left crying & will never go back.
That being said, the nurses i had were very nice and helpful and the head of the department came around and asked how my visit was and when i told him how rude my doctor was he was very apologetic and said he would deal with it.
edit: I just went back to look at my paperwork, and it says “reason for visit: sore throat” and that was NOT the reason for the visit. I went in for a very sharp excruciating head pain.response / report this review -

Went to emergency room after a car accident and assumed I’d be there for at least 4 hours before being looked at triage 😫They evaluated immediately and everyone was very efficient and explained each process before. Excellent service from the point of entry to exit. Very surprised 😲and pleased🤗. Great job DCH.

Yesterday, I brought my husband in having a heart attack.
It was shocking to watch how the E.R sprang into action.
EVERYBODY was doing EVERYTHING all at one time.
The time from From E.R to a post surgery room in CICU totaled less than 2.5 hours.
OUTSTANDING!!!
Everyone did a great job caring for Ken & keeping me & the family informed.
The CICU nurses were some of the most caring & thorough I've ever encountered in any hospital.
Thank you Lyssa Sutton, Jason Grantham & Terri White for taking care of Ken.

My 82 year old dad was rushed by Ambulance to DCH with 105 fever and pneumonia The ER Team worked together in total excellence bringing a calm to my dad. The experience in the ER room was efficient and professional in every way that got my dad the immediate attention he needed to save his life. Everything was clean and staff was friendly and helping.
The doctors, nurses, physical therapist, respiratory therapist were all warm, caring and detailed to every need my dad had fighting pneumonia. I highly recommend Tuscaloosa DCH for any family loved one who needs emergency care you can trust.response / report this review -

I was in a car accident (lady running 150 mph rear ended me). I told the doctors and nurses that Im anemic multipule times but I was never hooked to an iv for the entire 7hrs I was there. they were all nice when I first arrived on the ambulance but after their testing, they left me in the trauma bay, bleeding out of my skull for over 4 hours. The wreck happened around 8:45pm and I didn't leave till around 4am, that is how long my head was bleeding. I did not have a single nurse come talk to me. My mom had to go yell at them just get someone to give me some pain medicne.
When the doctor stapeled my head close, he did not clean the wound or move my hair (filled with glass, dirt, and plastic) and he clumped so much skin together that when my primary doctor took the staples out, my skin had formed over one of the staples and it took them 25 min just to pull out the one. They said that because of that I am going to have one of the ugliest scars ever. It's been over a month and my head still hasn't healed.
I laid in glass, dirt, and plastic the whole time I was in the ER cuz no one dusted me off, they wouldn't even give me a rag so I could wipe myself of. They said the lack of care was because of shift change. This experience has convinced me that I will never go to a regional hospital ever again.response / report this review -

The Emergency Room at this hospital is a Joke! Oh My God! Hear me when I say Father God keep me safe from harm so that I don't need Emergency Care at this facility!! Good Jesus if you are going to have to wait 4 hours before being seen whats the point of coming here! Mind you I do understand there are other patients that need care as well but Good Jesus this is ridiculous!

On L&D for PTL. The entire team is great! All my nurses very sweet and accommodating to all my requests (though I tried to be reasonable). My physician is very communicative with them and myself, practicing high quality, standard of care medicine. Phlebotomists were very friendly and got both my lab draws so far with one stick.

Worst hospital ever. Micu nurses on day shift are the worst. They're rude and disrespectful and they treat the patients like dirt. It's ridiculous at how badly they treat their patients and still have a job. Especially the elderly patients they do no take care of them properly and are rough and rude. They do not even help them when help is needed. This place isn't fit for a dog to be seen at.

Two years ago, my wife received a call from their collections dept that we owed over $800 for an ER visit and that if we did not pay for it that day it would be sent to the credit bureau. Come to find out, they sent our bill to the wrong address even though they had the correct one on file. I paid the bill and let them know that this was unacceptable and could not happen again. Guess what? It did.
This afternoon we got a call from the same collections agency saying that we owed over $600 to pay for my wife's sinus surgery that she had performed in Decmeber. We haven't received anything in the mail, thru email, or over the phone. Come to find out, they sent that bill to the same wrong address as the previous one. Apparently they didn't get the memo since the last time this occurred, because they explained to me that although they were extremely sorry, the hassle of fixing their mistake would still fall on me since the bill had to be paid today or else it would hit my credit. How you can make this mistake twice is beyond insane. The funny thing is, the lady I spoke to said that this happens to a lot of other people, as if it's to be expected. This is simply lazy, irresponsible, and unprofessional service.
My advice is, if you go to DCH, you're going to have to walk many of them thru doing their own job.response / report this review -

What staff I did see seemed really nice but its like one works here other than the people at the front desk. I have been waiting in the waiting room of the ER for 5 hours and ever that came in after has gone in.

Both my husband and myself have been treated in the ER and were given wonderful care. For my visit, my nurse was extremely kind and caring. I was there to receive care after having a piece of food stuck in my esophagus. They did everything possible to help me and the doctor spent time, sitting next to me, explaining what all was going on, and they all made sure I had an easy follow up with a GI soon after my ER visit. If more people understood that an emergency room is for true emergencies, and that if you are waiting it means you aren't dying there would be less need to post negative reviews. I'm thankful for the caring medical staff at the DCH ER.

Just spent the night with a buddy in the Emergency room, and our nurse Anna was great. Very sweet and funny. He was very anxious to go to the hospital in the first place, but after a few minutes she instantly made him feel much better. Kept us well informed of everything and went out of her way to make both of us comfortable. We had a nice doctor as well, but I forgot her name. Thanks DCH!
