Beautiful and well-appointed resort and spa. It's been around for 60 years so it's a bit dated, but is still a classy place. The resort started as the first Playboy Club, and there's an informational display about this on the first floor. Check out the lounge for drinks and live piano music, and during Christmastime be sure to visit for an extravagant display of holiday decorations and the gingerbread house contest!

A very nice getaway from the city. Great restaurants, and four seasons of activities - from golfing to skiing (although the ski hill is quite small). Elegant. A good base to explore Chicago, Madison, and Milwaukee if you dont mind driving.

The staff was absolutely wonderful! I love to the Personal Touch of getting a text after checking in to make sure it was the right cell phone number and knowing that I could text them if I needed anything. Rooms were clean and the food was good.

Front desk service requires significant improvement. Whether in person or calling down from the room staff were very rude. Received better service calling from my cell phone. Quite a bit of hidden fees, charged. Hallway carpeting needs an upgrade. Thanksgiving grand ballroom dinner - food was very bland. Great view - if in lakeside room on ground floor. Booking through Expedia, etc. expect to be treated like a second class citizen and receive room farthest away from the lobby. All guests should be treated with respect and offered the best service. The room, view and other staff saved this rating. Be sure to mention if you are a Marcus Rewards member.

We stayed at the Grand Geneva Resort & Spa for a weekend, it was very nice. It was a quick weekend trip and we came up Friday evening and left Sunday morning. We spent Saturday over at the indoor water park at the adjoining Timber Lodge. The rooms are nice and the resort itself is welcoming. The rooms are well-furnished and comfortable. The restaurants have good food and are reasonably priced but you need to make a reservation on weekends. A good experience overall.

Was there to attend a wedding, the staff was uninformed and were directing people to walk outside in the rain to the ceremony when arrangements had been made for the trolley. This was very confusing and a rough start to the day. The food at the Mountain Top was very good.

I really wanted to like this place (mostly because I'll be back in a month for work). However, a number of things ruined it for me a bit. My biggest problem was that within 15 minutes of me getting into my room, 3 separate hotel employees walked into my room without knocking (I was getting up to deadbolt the door when the last guy walked in). One said they were a supervisor checking rooms, one apologized and said she thought it was unoccupied and left, and the third was a guy wanting to replace a lightbulb who had to be asked to leave.

The second problem was with the private yoga class our group had set up. The instructor was sick, and I do understand that these things happen, but they didn't handle it very well. I wish they would have called us to let us know so we could choose another option that morning. But they didn't inform us until we were already in the yoga room, at which point it was too late to catch one of the other options. So they had a girl lead us through a "yoga style stretching class". And that would have been fine, but this girl clearly didn't know what she was doing and had no business teaching a class.

The food our group got was okay, but the staff couldn't accurately tell us which items were gluten free. One of our group has a severe gluten allergy and therefore couldn't eat much.

The only pros I had for this stay were the fire pit, which was lovely to sit around for the evening, and the view from my room, which really was very nice.

Great facility! Gorgeous property. Went there for a convention. Great meals. Great service. Everyone working there was so friendly, and beyond accommodating. It was obvious that everyone there, genuinely, cared about our experience.

We and another couple stayed here several times about 30-35 years ago when our kids were growing and we enjoyed the hospitality the scenery the golf courses and food. We returned last weekend and again enjoyed the hospitality and the scenery. We are now in late seventies and eighties with disabilities including one with a stroke and others with lowered strength, we found that the rooms and building has never been upgraded to new needs for elderly and disabled! Rooms are dated, bathroom with dim lights and floor wet and slippery. The ramps Are too steep, elevator drops you to LL level and then you manage the stairs. the restrooms are good, clean and roomy but too far from the restaurant and the lobby. I will not recommend this potentially nice resort to anyone with disability or limited strength. My recommendation is simple, get a consulting firm and upgrade the place, it can be an excellent friendly resort. We paid $344.12 per night and was a discounted rate.

If you can stay at the main building (called The Lodge) that would be beneficial. Otherwise you would just use the shuttle to get to the lodge, as most of the facility's amenities are located there. There's ample parking at the facility. The suite we had was up-scale the balcony had a relaxing view of the golf course, the carpets jacuzzi tub & kitchen area were all nice. The only down sides were the ceramic floor tiles and shower surround were in need of replacement . It was easy to find a quiet time together kid free. Also you can take advantage of the many activities available within the lodge or close to it. Or you can take a carriage ride, horse riding, boat rides, museums, resturants shopping, boating / rentals, hiking or sight seeing. Taking a cab from the lodge to the docks is one way to avoid the town's weekend parking hassle. If you're there on weekdays, it's easy enough to find parking in town. There's definitely enough activities to make your time there as busy, relaxing or romantic as you both wish. Enjoy!

We went there for brunch. It is excellent. Lots of choices, even choices to help with the low carb diet l am doing. The staff were pleasant. You can have as many mimosas as you wanted that was complimentary. I highly recommend it for a brunch.

I thought the course and food were absolutely stunning, You couldn't go wrong with anything on the menu. However I wish the rooms were a little nicer, I didn't ever feel comfortable in them and when I first got there I had to clean up what the staff left. However I found the whole experience pleasant and would am looking forward to coming back!

Front desk told me there was no driving range for the golf course, of course there was. I spent an hour carry my clubs around looking for it. Our room is very disturbing with trash on the floor. The corners are especially dusty, dirty, and gross. The hallways smell like mildew, and they also smell like bleach to cover up the mildew smell. The service at the restaurant was awful on Saturday night. We had to wait 25 minutes after we sat down before we could order. Dining with a two year old child is very difficult when you can't order food. We left the restaurant before our food arrived. We were seated at our table for an hour when we had to take our screaming two year old outside. We ordered room service when we got back to our room, so we paid for dinner twice. It was very frustrating that none of our keys worked. Many many other guests had the same problem. The front desk continually told us that the keys should work and we were just unable to use them properly. We left our doors unlocked because we wanted access to our room and grew tired of the front desk telling us that we didn't know how to use keys. The dudes at the golf course were very nice, polite, and helpful. When we exited the building there was more often than not someone smoking right outside the door. The club sandwich from room service was very good. The turkey was smoked, and there was just a little bit of mayo. Golf course and club sandwich were good, hotel and restaurant made us wish that we had stayed home. We have reservations for another night, but we are going home today. If we can't get a refund, that's fine. At least we will be back at home.

Food was quite good. I noticed there were fewer choices than last year's dinner. Music consisted mostly of newer songs. Would have liked to hear more older classic songs. But, me and my date were on the dance floor the entire night so it wasn't bad music. Servants and bussers and other employees were very friendly and polite. My date and I had a prom we will never forget here!

The resort grounds are beautiful! The rooms are nice but the one we stayed in needed a like maintenance. The air return vent in the ceiling was partially coming off (the hotel sent someone to fix it as soon as we told them about it). There was something in the room or just outside out that made a terrible squeaking sound (mostly during the day) but it wasn't constant out even consistent so there was nothing to be done about it. The beds are so comfortable though and the lake view was amazing. The food at the resort was good and the grand club lounge was great for breakfast and snacks. The staff was friendly and were able to answer any questions we had. The grand experiences were fun and it was so nice that we didn't have to leave the grounds to do them. Overall it wasn't perfect but I would definitely stay here again.
