A great small town university experience. Georgia College is big enough to constantly meet new people while small enough that your professors know who you are and actually care about you. The friendships I made while attending Georgia College have lasted a lifetime.

Attending Georgia College was hands-down one of the best decisions I have ever made.

The university has among the highest graduation rates and freshmen retention rates in the state. To speak to the graduation rate, I completed my Bachelor's in Marketing and minor in Economics in only 3.5 years, and my sister also graduated from GC with her Psychology degree in only three years. I've also had friends who have attended GC go on to become national scholarship recipients (several Fulbright Scholars) and some who have skipped Master's degrees and gone straight into Ph. D. programs.

Also, GC has been the #1 safest campus in Georgia by Princeton Review and chosen as the 2nd safest campus for women in the nation by a large news outlet. To further speak to the safety of the campus, it's within 7 police jurisdictions and has a student night auxiliary patrol that offers students golf cart rides home at night. When I was a young student, I would even walk home from the library in all hours of the night with a MacBook Air in my backpack and was never bothered (and I'm a girl of pretty small stature).

GC is the perfect place for bright, young professionals who like to be intellectually challenged and who will get involved in campus life.
It's truly the preeminent private-feeling university at the public cost.

tl;dr - Gorgeous, safe, university with an exceptionally talented and motivated student body. If you're thinking about attending, I highly encourage you to!

Going to this school was a life-changing experience. I was so conflicted about where I wanted to attend university, as I was torn between the big, popular options. Discovering Georgia College was the best thing to have ever happened to me, as I realized that this was a community filled with super smart and passionate students as well as a world-class faculty. I was able to be involved in so many amazing classes, projects, organizations during my time here, and I am still impressed with the active and vibrant campus life at this school. Georgia College is the best fit for ambitious and hard-working students who want a college experience that transforms the way they think and see the world around them. The public liberal arts model at GC is the perfect preparation for people who want to become leaders and innovators in whatever field they choose.

Georgia college protects rapists. NOT one of the safest campus and NOT a safe place for young women. Please do not make the same mistake of putting trust in this community that so many of my friends did and lost their security and futures because of it

I just finished my graduate degree in education for here and I was well pleased with the program until my least semester and my capstone professor told me that I was not educated. He gave me a B in a course and when I tried to discuss the grade and get some understanding of the grade he told me that was not well educated and that I just needed to move on. I was not even trying to get the grade change I just wanted to have a discuss about my grade to get some clarification over the grade I received. I was going to pursue my Specialist with GCSU but after having my spirit broken I chose to go another route and look at other schools that would be a better fit.

As a senior here, I love it. Most of the faculty has a PHD level of education, so they REALLY know what they're talking about. The art department (my major) is a bit on the smaller side, it's one of my few complaints about the school. Parking is awful (more so than your average college campus), but the overall atmosphere of the campus is very good.

Georgia College offers a true small town college experience. I transferred here from Georgia State University and found the campus welcoming. The class sizes are small and I was more than just a number to my professors. I enjoyed my undergraduate experience so much that I completed the Master of Management Information Systems program after I graduated. My only regret is that I did not start here as a freshman!
