Usually a big fan of these cupcakes. However, this time there was little flavor to the salted caramel or the toffee cupcake. The cake itself was pretty dense, not light and fluffy like usual. On the fence as to whether I would buy anymore.
Be prepared for a long line. But the wait is worth it. All their cupcakes are really bomb. They have a couple of seating spots towards the back, but there are also seats outside. The workers are nice and helpful. They'll take their time and explain their different kinds of cupcakes.
This is the perfect place if you have a sweet tooth. I ordered 1/2 dozen cupcakes, and the chocolate donuts are awesome. For the most part, all the cupcakes were on the sweet side, but still good. The store is a bit small, so do expect to dine in unless you get lucky. The service is steady, but not fast. If you hate waiting in line, then don't come here. Overall, the experience was good. Came in to try, take a selfie, and move on.
Meh. Really awful customer service. Dismissive attitudes toward clients. Not a particularly welcoming environment. So crowded that it feels like a safety hazard. If there was ever an emergency people could not all leave in a timely manner.
Telling clients that the only seating area is off limits is pretty strange. There are so many people waiting for their orders because of how slow the service is that the only logical place to wait on a 40 degree day is the seated area. And yet one is ushered away for no apparent reason.
Seems like a lot of hype. Not sure if the desserts live up to it. I left.
This is a cute (busy) little cupcake shop. The staff was very friendly & I ordered the Peanut Butter Fudge cupcake & it was phenomenal! Very good, light icing on top, fudge middle, and moist cake. Worth the $3.25 price tag. When I went it wasn't too crowded, there were only a few people ahead of me so I didn't think it would take very long. For some reason I did have to wait for about 10 minutes just for one cupcake! The people ahead of me did not order very many and I was confused as to why it took so long to get mine, but that's really the only problem I had.
This is my favorite cupcake store in the whole wide world! Every time I am in DC I have to stop by and grab a cupcake. A particular one I love is the chocolate ganache cupcake. A must try, don't let the long line fool you, it moves quickly.
I don't understand what the hype is here. Waited in a long line which was fine but cupcakes were just OK, a bit dry. Cupcake server was grumpy and rude to customers. A 'not sufficiently moist' cupcake is a First world problem for sure. Better cupcakes have been had at my local grocery store.
There was a hit of a line up and it was super busy (totally expected). The cupcakes were delicious but a little pricey for the size and the employees were very pleasant (just wanted to serve and move on). Also they need another door for exit as myself and 4 other people were mixed in with the order pickup line up. For such a small place tables outside would be nice too.
Cupcakes are very good. Not sure if they are worth $3.25 but they do taste delicious. Only slight issue is because of how known they are picking your flavors almost needs to be done while you are outside in line. Inside there isn’t much time to decide and the person taking your order doesn’t seem caring enough to let you take a second to make a decision. Both my wife and a friend commented on feeling rushed.
Over hyped.
I've been to fancy cupcake places before. This one is so-so.
I get it's appeal as like a cool place to hangout or to go on a date. I get that it's kinda famous It probably shouldn't be. If you happen to be in the area seeing by. Expect a line. Expect the cupcake to be good, but compared to competitors it's going to be just okay.
My 28 years old/7 month pregnant daughter was going to be spending her birthday in DC and I wanted to make sure she had a special delivery of cupcakes. I emailed Georgetown Cupcakes and they responded to my request within an hour. My daughter loved the cupcakes. "These are the best cupcakes I have ever had." Thank you Georgetown Cupcakes

The cupcakes are great! I'd say that if you're going for a plain flavor go somewhere else, but if you want to adventure and not have a typical tasting cupcake this is the place to be. It's worth the money if you're adventurous with your food
This is a very nice cupcake bakery. The cupcakes are really tasty, but somewhat expensive. Now, I would not complain about the price if they quality was higher. In fact, I was expecting them to be much better given that I was enjoying these treats in a cultural center like DC. They were not so much better than what I could find in a regional center such as Beaumont, TX, Lafayette, LA, or even Lexington, KY. As a result, I found them to be very good, but not great. If you are in Georgetown, they are worth visiting, but not worth a special treat.
One of your must-do tourist things while in Georgetown. If you live here it a fun outing. The cupcakes are great and there are usually 15 or more choices at $3.25 each. The staff is super friendly and fast. Do expect to wait in a line, it's a hot spot.. but you're going to wait in line for everything in Georgetown. might as well reward yourself with something sweet.
I was so excited to visit this place since everyone raved about it. The line was filled with people who were from out of state (including me), so it is definitely a tourist attraction. I got a cheesecake cupcake and it was delicious. But, was it worth waiting in line for 30 minutes.. probably not. It is just another, cute cupcake shop and it's sort of become a tourist tradition to visit Georgetown and stop by there to grab a cupcake.
