I love this place. I decided to go mountain biking up here for my birthday. Oh my gosh. The scenery was breath taking. So peaceful, and quiet. Once in a lifetime experience. I was so far away from home but I enjoyed every minute of it. I will return again. I would recommend bringing some energy bars and water. Make sure you have a zip lock bag to put your trash in. Also make sure you have some form of protection. Bear bells and mase just in case. Black bears are known to be in this area.

Such a beautiful place. I have beautiful daughter who works there and there host and clerks are wonderful. Very professional. Its a great place☺

Loaded with fun hikes that lead to some amazing views. And for those who can't hike, there are pull-off spots along the Blue Ridge parkway with views that will drop your jawespecially near the Apple Orchard Mtn area. Peaks of Otter is right on the parkway and offers public bathrooms, hot meals, drinks & alcoholic beverages which is a great place to warm up after a chilly hike.

Better than Shenandoah National Park, in my opinion. Definitely more secluded with loads of trails where you won't run into another soul. But all still very well-marked and maintained! Love the national forests!!

This was a good walk. The waterfalls were pretty. The trail needs some work. Not as well marked as most hiking trails. They need to make the trees with various colors to indicate which trail is which. There are no markings. There are only a few signs. There are places where you can't tell where the trail is due to you are crossing a rock field. It is a fairly challenging tail but worth the walk. Parking lot is good. We will do it again

We hiked to The Priest, it was absolutely beautiful. Try to go when the weather is clear and no clouds. The summit is absolutely beautiful. Go to the shelter and read the log book and share your confessions to The Priest!

Wonderful to feel the freedom of being in the woods..lots to see if you pay attention and move quietlyhunt fish camp and enjoy take pictures leave footprints so the next adventurers can enjoy the same experience.

Hiked humpback rock trail. Easy parking by the trail or visitors center. Trail was clearly marked. Great climb and view. Just off the AT so a great diversion for through hikers. Visitor center has a gift shop, bathrooms, and water fountain but no vending so be prepared with food and water for the trail.

Great for hiking and seeing nature. Great place to go camping IF you have a vehicle that can handle getting down some of the trails and roads (pickup, 4x4, etcetera) because it requires something not too low to the ground. Take what you need with you. There is not any type electrical or water hookups. This is "roughing it" camping experience.

George Washington and Jefferson National Forest is a beautiful place to hike or drive through. I highly recommend hiking up to the Cascades, or driving a motorcycle through the winding forest roads. Great way to enjoy a good Sunday Drive, or get some good exercise!

The rainy spring has been great for the area. We went to Ramsey's Draft North area, the paths were little over grown. I'd advise long pants if you want to the nettles and ivy near the paths. The Wilderness area is definitely as advertised. Great weekend but don't expect the blazing and path up keep you'd find in Shenandoah.

Not sure what Google is considering GW&J .The George Washington & Jefferson is a very vast national forest not an individual place. It completely surround most of our homes and the businesses we frequent here in Craig. It holds a lot of beautiful scenery. I suspect the listing and location on here is way off.

Best life ever forever. Get away from the insanity of death culture as much as possible. Maybe never go back. Lots of camping spots off the blue ridge parkway on the forest roads. Respect this place for future gens. Pack in pack out. Thank you
