I was a Geico policy holder recently and had to deal with the claims agents that worked here. A lady without insurance rear ended my car. I was driving for Uber at the time and unknowingly to me this is like a plague that Geico does not want to have anything to do with unless you pay them 3x your policy rate. . But here is the thing, the agent thoroughly investigated me during the claims process (I was filing a claim against the other driver). And when I called her back she said, were not covering it, you drive for Uber. . . So I call Uber and it turns out they have you covered whenever you have the App on, and Geico says they have you covered whenever the app is off. So there should be not conflict of interests or increased rates. . So I call them back and it turns out they have me set up for policy cancelation, which I had not known. So now I have to get new insurance and all my quotes are through the roof. All I ever did was never cause a car accident in my life and work a couple weeks for Uber now everyone wants to charge me double. So is this an Uber problem? Let me tell you something, if your paying someone who is an expert in the business they should know what's covered by who and explain exactly what they can do for me in the claims process and explain that Geico requires additional coverage options (which I do not agree with given the Uber coverage policy). Rather they collect their money when they can and drop you when convenient. The insurance business is ofcourse a big scam with the odds pinned against the consumer at all times. The agents are the casino that takes in their earnings and cashes you out paycheck to paycheck. Don't expect to find any expert advice or honesty here.
Great place! Customers can ACTUALLY go in and talk to a live person about their insurance!
Positive experience, very well ran. Corporate environment.
Best job I've ever had!
Not the best place to work, there some decent perks like days where they have free food, but pay is just not good enough. Its just barely a step up from waitressing.
My vehicle was involved in an accident with a Geico insurer, I have a copy of the insurer"s DL and insurance card. Spoke with Gieco representative Sherille Sands on the date the claim was filed on 8/15/17, now today she called ans said she couldn't make contact with her insurer and suggest that I contact my insurer for damages and medical bills.
Rigorous hiring process as well as stressful work environment. Not for me..
Great job, glad to have been working here for several years, working with others who have been here decades longer.
Word of caution to other customers: Make sure your private info is safe with GEICO. Got an email and phone call with Underwriting last week and they were scheduled to cancel my auto policy because I had "refused to give them my home address" on Oct. 3, 2016. I didn't make that call in October 3, but someone clearly did, and when I asked the guy to escalate it because of security concerns, he declined to telling me they don't really record all the calls - which he seemed to know was true in my case without checking. He was also so rude I asked for his employee ID number, which he refused to give me, saying he wasn't "allowed" to (false) and scheduled a phone call at 11 a.m. the next day from his supervisor, which never occurred. No phone calls. No follow-ups. No nothing.
I've had a policy with GEICO for the last six months and the experience has been incredible. Buying the policy was very easy to do through the online app. When it seemed impossible I would leave the dealership with a car, GEICO's rep Mary refaxed the information to the dealership and I had a policy the same day. GEICO's rate was lower than anyone else, and I compared them to three insurance companies.
When I was stranded on the roadside because I ran out of gas, GEICO came to the rescue. The service truck arrived within an hour as promised, and he was an excellent reflection to his company and to GEICO as well. I know they may not be the same company, but it seems like GEICO employs good people and excellent customer service.
Then (only four months after getting my car) I had an accident in November 2016. Brandi (the adjuster) was friendly, clear, and concise in her communications throughout the repair process. I thought everything was going to be worse than what it was, but I enjoyed having someone to speak to and meet in person about my damaged car. I was happy to not be at fault and even happier with my low deductible!
Call center for GEICO. My family's restaurant delivers food here. I think I'm biased when i say I LOVE IT! The buildings seem to be in good shape and the employees seem nice. It's right off of the interstate.
