It's an older style resort with many wonderful amenities. Location, A+, room A+, Staff A+, Dinning Room B, Buffet Food C-, Rates B-. Go for the cabin amenities, look for options on dining . Buffett food is only good at the beginning, room temperature for others

The cabin was a slice of backwoods Americana The outside has a very rustic look to it while the inside it newly remodeled with all the modern conveniences. The only downside is parking is kind of tight The staff were extremely nice and helpful and the dining options on property were delicious. There are many more amenities offered on site than what we took advantage of.

Can tell they are making some renovations, however there are many more needed. We stayed at The Wren’s Nest, cabin 22. Leaves on patio were knee deep. The sofa was indescribably uncomfortable. Definitely needs a new coffee maker. There was a timer on hot water in shower - definitely had to jump in and out quickly.

Basic details first: my wife and I rented one of the Countryside Romance cabins with the Gold+Wine+Waterfalls package for a few days to celebrate our anniversary.

Quick summary: The accommodations were comfortable and we enjoyed our stay, but the package disappointed. If we stayed again, we would not pay the extra for it.

    The Good:
    * Bed was incredibly comfortable
    * Cabin was clean and neat
    * LB1 cabin was sufficiently isolated as to feel private.
    * Hot tub was clean and worked great
    * Basically, everything to do with the actual cabin was fine.

    The Ambivalent:
    * Meals at the resort are on a fairly tight schedule - a two-hour band most of the time. We're both night shift and didn't realize this going in, so our free breakfasts didn't end up being of any use to us. Plus there aren't any meals available after 9-ish. Can't blame them for this, just wish I'd thought to check ahead of time.
    * I wish we'd had a full kitchenette because of the schedule conflict. That appears to be luck of the draw on which cabin you end up in, and ours only had the microwave, fridge, and sink. That's as-advertised, though.

    The Bad:
    * I alerted the resort ahead of time that I had a food allergy, and I was told the dining area would be notified and they would work with us. Instead, the major part of our picnic lunch (part of the package) was food I couldn't eat. My wife tells me the food was fine, which is good I suppose.
    * A candlelight dinner was part of the package, and we planned our stay around it to some extent. It ended up being the biggest flop of the whole stay. It couldn't be done on Sunday - we were told this ahead of time and that's fine, we moved it to Monday. Sunday we asked the office where to show up for the meal, and were told to go to the couples dining area. We showed up there the next night to find it shut down completely, and were placed in the entirely empty 'family dining area' instead. When we asked whether this was still our candlelight dinner, they brought a candle and put it in the booth we were sitting in and offered to turn off the lights in our section. We ordered champagne off the menu - there was none. Two parts of the meal I couldn't eat as they included my allergen. We were offered dessert and they didn't know what was available, which ended up only being a chocolate cake (which I can't eat). The dinner being part of the package ended up only being a partial credit towards the cost of our meal, as well. It was let's say not romantic. Disappointing to say the least.

I took my daughter here for horseback riding on her birthday. From booking to leaving we had a wonderful experience. Everyone was incredibly helpful, the animals were well kept, and the guide on our trail was full of interesting facts and helpful tips. I would absolutely recommend this place, and I can't wait to schedule further excursions.

The lodge with 2 stories was nice. We liked having 2 floors with a TV on each floor. The garden tub was great. There was also a sofa and tables. The upstairs had 2 ceiling fans.

We love coming to Forrest Hill Resort! The folks here are so nice and the chefs are amazing! The Rose Garden Dining room is absolutely gorgeous, especially when it's decked out in roses. It's romantic, warm, and spacious! We can't wait to come back and work with them again!

The Mrs. And I loved it. Cabin is clean and roomy. Plenty of provided towels for the hit tub and shower. Food is served buffet style but is all very tasty. The massage therapists were a delite and did a great job. Overall I think we would definitely consider this location for another weekend getaway.

Stayed in one of the cabins, did the Gold/Wine/Waterfall package. Dinner was very good, the cabin looks shabby on the outside but was wonderful on the inside. Had a great time panning for gold and drinking at wineries. Resort employees have been incredibly nice and helpful. I'd love to come back someday.

The price is very affordable, probably the best thing I can say about the place. Friendly and helpful front office, which was important as I had to change rooms since mine had severe water damage. Everything is a bit dated but perfectly functional me, and wifi is great! I spent little time in my room, so this was fine for me. Probably an ideal spot to do a cheap family reunion where you can rent out a whole lodge.

Me and my husband were married here March of 2016. They arranged a small nice wedding for us. It was lovely. Nice quite and secluded. My hair and makeup was done on my wedding day and I looked amazing. Going back this month for our 1st anniversary. I hope we have another amazing time here

Hands down the best customer service team I've been around! Every one is very accommodating and will bend over backwards to make your stay pleasant. Some parts are remodeled others need it but definitely a place to stay if you're in the area

Forrest Hills is a great escape from the busyness of the world. The room had modern amenities but the beds were not comfortable at all. The clear view of the stars at night was amazing. I would recommend Forrest Hills but be sure to bring food and drink for after the kitchen closes.
