  Other than the affordability & the quiet, park like environment, I don't have anything to positively share about Forest Park Apartments. I more than likely will not be renewing my lease here later this year.
  1. The brown water I've been told it is sediment from Peoria Heights, not the fault or problem of the complex. There is visible brown residue at the bottom of my tub DAILY. I was told to let my water run for a few minutes before showering or filling the tub. If there's residue in the tub AFTER I've showered, then how helpful is it really, to run water for a few minutes before using the shower. Of course, this isn't mentioned before signing your lease.
  2. The medicine cabinet/mirror I am 5'2" and can only see myself about 2" below my chin. I requested that the cabinet be lowered so I can have a better view while getting ready. I was told that it couldn't because of the electric wiring box behind it. I was also told it would cost too much to have an electrician handle it properly. When I originally inquired about lowering it, the office employee told me they would if they could, but that because of a fire in my building years ago, some of the medicine cabinets were hiding holes in the wall I was told to put a mirror on my bathroom door. Ok, sure to wash my face & brush my teeth??? I was
  extremely upset about the lack of accommodation on the managers part & since then the office staff has NOT been very helpful. I can hear the frustration in the voice on the other end of the line when I call.
  3. The cold water have to run my water for at least 2 minutes before any cold water comes out. Again, not mentioned at lease signing.
  4. TV & internet reception/service I don't have cable and I don't have a subscription for wireless internet. I have a digital antennae which has worked perfectly fine in past apartments but not here. I can't even get internet using the data on my phone or tablet. If you do have wi-fi, it doesn't work from one room to another. also, not mentioned at lease signing.
  4. Snow removal this is why I decided to do the review. Only part of the sidewalk was cleared today, with a large pile of snow right in the middle of the walk. This sidewalk is the direct path to the dumpsters & the pile of snow left, blocks the walkway. I have a slight disability causing some difficulty walking, so I already have to be very careful, without encountering obstacles I called the office around 3pm to inform them. She told me she would send somebody right over to take care of it. At 5pm, I went out & was disappointed to see that it had not been cleared. I phoned the office again & spoke with a different employee who couldn't seem to get me off of the phone fast enough. She told me she couldn't do anything about it today as she was the only one there, but she would have somebody come out tomorrow to evaluate the situation again. Evidently, the individual who was sent over earlier reported back that the sidewalk was clear. I took pictures that prove otherwise, but I highly doubt it will matter. I've worked customer service most of my adult life & I know this is not the appropriate way to deal with a complaint. I've never raised my voice or made unreasonable requests with the office, but they've sure treated me like I have. I'm sure there will be no attempt to rectify my displeasure, but I do hope that prospective tenants will be able to make an informed decision to waste their money here or not. I suppose it depends on what is important to individuals and the level of tolerance a person has when it comes to apartment living.

  I have lived here off and on for some years and there is no better value in the Peoria area. Nice, updated, clean apartments at a great price. There is a pool that is well kept. The maintenance is awesome, they typically fix any issues same day. The staff is friendly and I feel at home here.

  There are several perks to living here. The staff is friendly and helpful, even when asked dumb questions (I know I've asked one or two). The area is kept clean, and the proximity to the park is a plus. The price of the rent is fairly average, but you pay not just for your apartment but for the context as well (clean, well-kept). Fairly equidistance (10min) from needs like grocery, gas station, gym, misc.

  I have a two bedroom - and it is prefect for some couple with a child or starting a family. You have a well lighted area to walk around and a lot of friendly people.

  I have lived here for 5 years and it is a great place, clean, fairly quiet, with very helpful staff. There is a single A/C unit for a two bedroom apartment, but I never had a problem with keeping the place cool with it. Utilities were low as well.
