Good service and great seafood. Lobster rolls are delicious and my go to item here. Weekends get busy but they accept reservations.

$1 oysters on Monday we're really good, but the Angry Mussels were outstanding! And the Ryan's Rhum Punch was tasty, too. And great service. Good dinner any way you slice it.

Superb oysters for $1 on Mondays. Excellent quality scallops, steamed shrimp, and they sure know how to cook fish. Overall great restaurant especially for the price. Makes me wonder why anyone would go to the other aging chain restaurants instead of Ford's.

Excellent service!! A wonderful variety of cocktails beers and wines. Fresh delicious Seafood offerings cooked a variety of ways. Indoor and outdoor seating. Very nice atmosphere, and even some TVs placed strategically for sports enthusiasts.

I come here for the freshest raw oysters. Ford's never disappoints. Their other dishes are good as well. I usually come on weekends, it's pretty quiet. The service is always quick and friendly.

My family and I went here to celebrate buying a house and was really happy with everything. Service was amazing all their recommendation we're really good. Even my son devoured their salmon. A little pricey but that is what we were expecting.

I had a handicap person with me, there was easy excess to get them inside the restaurant.
The people working there were very polite and helpful.
They opened doors, found a good seat for us with someone with a walker.
Plenty of room between tables which is nice to move around with our situation.
So the food; great tasting food and very large portions for being seafood.
I believe everything about seafood would taste very nice. Others at our table raved about the taste of their food.
We did try a blueberry pie. The way it is served is nice idea.
I do love blueberry pie, I was expecting the large plump berries but i believe the wild blueberries were used so this was not my favorite dessert. The crust was crispy the way I like it but for me it was a bit too salty.
So, order their seafood because you will be happy that you had some good seafood in such a long time.
The server was very pleasant.

Went with my wife and kids for early dinner. The service was rubbish, the food was meh. There was literally 1 other guest in the restaurant and it took 5 min to order drinks. 15 min. to get them. So.20 min. into this with a hungry toddler and a hungry kindergartener and we have yet to order ANYTHING to eat. We order meals and an app. App was soggy with grease. Meals were the same and bland. We're talking crab cake and a strip of frozen fish (a.k.a. daily special) not really a challenge for the kitchen. App, and kids meals were completely unmemorable. Not a repeat customer here.

So, always try something more than once, right? Yeah no. Ford's "Fish" Shack in South Riding, VA is still rubbish. The service sucked. The lobster bisque was creole seasoning with some cream and canned lobster. In a dish where lobster is the hero, all you can taste is blackening seasoning. The crab cake was also not fresh crab and was basically an onion remoulade. All I could taste was crunchy onion. Where was the crab - the "hero" of this dish.
Save your time and money. Ford's is a $7 plate masquerading as a $17-$20 plate.
I also told the server that we have a tree nut alergy and they brought out a dish garnished with pecan. It was a lovely plate of death. What a bunch of donkeys.response / report this review -

Food is consistently good, and the service is usually prompt, courteous, and attentive. If there is a hit, it's the typically long lines and jam-packed dining room, but that's usually a good sign when it comes to a restaurant.

They have great food! Devilish eggs are a fav as well as the salmon salad and oysters. They are crowded so you do have to wait for a seat and they are a bit pricey but the food is worth it.

Food was odd. We both ordered lobster rolls and it tasted salty and uncooked. One of them had a chunk of shell in it that nearly caused a dental incident. The best part of the meal was the butter that comes with the cornbread.
Let's not forget our waiter; he was way too overbearing. Constantly at our table chatting and trying to do things. So much so that we couldn't have a conversation, and even if we could, the restaurant was so loud we had to shout at each other across a 4-top table to be heard.

Ryan, the bartender is the best. Chris, the manager is always extremely accommodating-especially with my special needs son. Food is incredible. It's our fav spot!
