They are very kind to my dog, despite his rambunctious behavior. I also just like the feeling of the building as well.

Overall I have had excellent service here for my 3 dogs. I have been to other vets in Santa Barbara (since my first dog in 1973) with previous pets and have not been satisfied. I tried Foothill and Dr Rittenberg on recommendation after I got a new dog. I was very happy with the care and prices. He did a serious surgery on one of my "girls" and she pulled thorough fine, healed fast, and the cost was reasonable for what she had done. I expected a bill much higher than it was. I office is clean, friendly, and convenient to Hwy 154.

I came here in search of a vet more interested in animal care than "practice management". I pay attention to my animals and I know when a vet is "up-selling" me into high profit services we don't need.
Dr. Rittenberg always explains the options that are available and then recommends choices, including the pluses or minuses. I don't mind doing home care of my animals and am glad to have a vet willing to work with me. Also, I get follow up calls from his office to make sure things are going as planned.
His fees for service are fair and the staff are very good.response / report this review
