Suwannee River in the Suwannee Valley from Okefenokee to the Gulf of Mexico. I have lived in Paradise for over 50 years eeking out a living as a carpenter/contractor, took on jobs no one would do and perfected the art of Craftsmanship to excel to my limits if there are any. I have enjoyed my life on the river to keep my sanity. The river is a slow moving (4 miles per hour) that changes speed and depth daily. When Okefenokee fills to the brim it uses the Suwannee by force to empty into the Gulf of Mexico. The storms of 2012 TS Debby swelled up the Suwannee over 14 feet like a tidal wave roaring through Georgia backing other rivers, like the Withlacoochee and the Alapaha into the fields flooding all the low land. What a sight to see, I videotaped, photographed, an awe inspiring season of water falling from the sky at the fastest rate possible. I love water but that happened so fast it is hard to explain.
