I have literally been growing my layers out for 5 years and I decided I wanted to cut my hair short so I would have super healthy hair & no layers.. so I tell the lady all this and to not use a razor & she says I'll use the scissors. Well as I'm watching her cut my hair I notice she starts pulling my hair up cutting my hair at a angle & making them layers!! Omg I swear my hair is so fragile & cutting at it side ways is gunna make it more prone to split ends & that is exactly what I didn't want!! I could go to great clips & get a better hair cut for way cheaper! Don't recommend Five One Seven Salon.

I wouldn't recommend 517salon to a homeless dog.
I never usually write reviews but after my experience I had to. I went as a walk-in. I met with TORI and she said she could do my hair no problem. I had a picture of the cut I wanted and everything. My hair was long and I wanted to take a lot off. I wanted it to be layered and lighter on my head. I also specifically asked her not to leave my length at my chin. Guess where its at? RIGHT AT MY CHIN!
Not only did she botch my cut but Tori let me walk out in a frizzy fur ball. I was given a terrible cut and tori also DID NOT STYLE my hair. She cut my hair to my chin, did not put any layers in and left the bottom uneven. It looked as though I had let a child cut my hair. I wanted to cry, after, she told me of another stylist who would have done my hair justice, and that I should have seen her due to us being the same race. As a hairstylist you should be able to do ANY hair type or not have your license. So after getting out of the chair for her to tell me I should have seen someone else made me think she wasn't going to charge me so much.
In short I paid $50 for a haircut and styling I never received. I called the salon the very next day to try and get my hair fixed. This was a Thursday and they claimed they could not fit me in and told me to try again next week. I had never been treated so poorly by a salon in my life. As a company they should have tried to fix there mistake and keep a customer but, instead were rude and careless.
