Great food and service. Good portions. Not a long wait for brunch. Make sure you try the mimosas!
Good breakfast /lunch food. Staff is friendly. Price is moderate overall I would say it is a good spot to have breakfast or lunch with friends.
Adorable beachy chic old house turned into a cute, comfortable restaurant. We love this place. Amazing food, delicious signature drinks.
Great service! I arrived before my group and they seated me anyway. Good lattes, and the breakfast was excellent with just the right portion. Now, about those flies. (avoid the patio).
It’s called “Fig Tree Cafe” because you’ll literally watch a tree grow before being served. Came in for breakfast today and was seated in the middle of the room. Fifteen minutes went by and I began to wonder if I was wearing my invisibility cloak out in public again. Servers and bussers passed my table constantly yet no one bothered to stop and see if I needed anything. Making eye contact proves futile. I gave a desperate, over-exaggerated wave to a pair of servers standing in the corner, deep in conversation, and that finally did the trick. One came over and said “oh your server is right there” and pointed to the backside of a gentleman entertaining a table next to me. I left immediately and will never return again.
Fantastic French toast. Drinks were good and sneakily stiff! My friend got the veggie burger. I would not recommend it.
Excellent place to eat breakfast! It is definitely a bit pricey, but totally worth every penny! The staff was helpful and very friendly. I will certainly consider visiting this place again when we are in San Diego. :)
I greatly enjoyed the food and the service was excellent. The coffee was fresh and I didn't feel rushed, but once again, I can't give 5 stars because of the over priced menu. $17.50 for an omelette and coffee in Hillcrest is just too much! I was told Hillcrest was less expensive than Downtown San Diego (where I ate the majority of my meals), but it hasn't proved to be so
The berry french toast was the best french toast I have ever had! All their food was good but my waiter wasn't doing much and this guy who served the food helped us (group of 4) 90% of the time not her! He always stayed enthusiastic and was kind. I observed him running around getting stuff done! While she stood in a place and wouldn't check on us. Wish I could have tipped him instead of my waiter.
Poor service. Cold food that took too long. Bad experience at the Hillcrest location and the liberty station area as well. Would not recommend unless you would like to have an underwhelming experience.
Brunch was great. I got the Strawberry and Cream French toast. My friend got the Vanilla, which I thought was better. The wait for the food to come out was 45 minutes, too long for a french toast.
Attentive service. Super flavorful food. Breakfast burrito was delicious but overly small. French toast with fruit was amazing. Attentive friendly service.
This place is awesome for breakfast and lunch food. Everything I've had on the menu is great. Breakfast burrito, omelette, pancakes, french toast, pizza, even BROWNIE french toast - all is delicious. Their mimosas are pretty good too. There is both inside and outside seating which is nice. The service is usually pretty fast. It can feel a little cramped around lunch time as everyone in the area comes to eat.
Bananas foster French toast is incredible! By far my favorite dish. Add a side of man candy and a mimosa and I'm a happy girl! Fig tree is one of my favorite brunch spots in all of San Diego. It's the wait time that sucksbut good things come to those who wait (or wake up early). You decide.
