My daughter was getting baptized and my wife wanted a nice meal to follow the event. She called the Farnsworth to set up a brunch for a party of 20. The woman she talked to set up the appointment and assured her that everything was set up for our party. Fast forward to the day of the baptism and our party shows up at the Farnsworth only to find out that the woman who set up our reservation did not have the authority to do so and the Farnsworth wound not be open for another 2 hours. Was there an apology? No. It was a "good luck finding another place". Imagine our embarrassment. The Farnsworth acknowledge the mistake was theirs, but did nothing to correct the massive error. They basically left us on our ass with no remorse. We are locals and we learned that the Farnsworth cares more about tourists than doing the right thing. Avoid this place.

The chicken pot pie is fantastic but the flat bread sauce is lackluster. I enjoyed the light razzing by the elderly woman serving as host until I realized I was the only one speaking to her. Then I began to notice that no one else was interacting with her and that I was the only one that could see her. I am pretty sure I conversed with a ghost for 45 minutes during dinner. Would recommend.

The Farnsworth house was really cool in history and the food was good, especially the roast beef! The staff however were a bit rude and not full of infothey were either understaffed or over worked.. .the outside beer garden could be amazing if staffed appropriately and they served food I did not stay at the B&B

Food was a little too reminiscent of the civil war, hearty as hell but very flavorless had the Chicken pot pie and sweet potato pudding as my side. Waitress was not good ,forgot our drinks and spilt my finance's draft when delivering it and then when time for check , was gone over a half hour with our credit card!!! 2 stars because of how cool and classic the place looked

It's good, but for what you pay there are a few other places I think you can get better food at for the value. BUT I will say the atmosphere of eating outside does add to the experience and is very cool to grab a bite at for the historical value. It is a fun place to eat, and the food is good, but it's just not my first choice while in town.

We stayed one night, in the Custer Room, right off the garden. The room was comfortable and decor was interesting and fun. I would have preferred more bright lights in the room, I really hate being able to see or read in dim light. The television as very tiny, it we didn't watch much tv while there. We adored the eating lunch outside in the garden, and our server Ernie was fantastic. Ernie was friendly, funny, quick and attentive. Great service, and very good food. We also loved having the beer garden open, and it's really expanded in the last year or so, great job! Noah the bartender was great fun as we told stories to him of our ghost experiences, and he told us some of his own. We really enjoyed our stay,and wish I had another nightbut we'll be back!

Friendly staff, great ambience, good food, relaxed patio dining. I loved seeing the Gettysburg prop/costume collectionone of my all-time favorite filmsand hear patrons' stories. We met so many interesting people at the tavern that we came back the following night.

The staff was so friendly and helpful. We did 2 walks and a ghost hunt and our guides were excellent. The breakfast was delicious every morning and the staff was always willing to share their experiences of the house with us. Can't wait to go back.

Great atmosphere and food. We have visited this establishment twice and have experienced their indoor and outdoor dinning areas, both are comfortable and offered a welcoming environment. The food is fantastic. It is worth the visit when you are in town.

Another entry in the "historic house with old-fashioned menu and costumed servers" genre popular in Gettysburg. I think the combination of price and unusual historic fare turns off many of the more blue-collar battlefield tourists expecting something a bit more Disney; there are no cheeseburgers on offer here. There was, however, a very good prime rib and a tasty roast chicken. I was a little skittish about the side-order options, but the pumpkin fritters were amazing. Watch out for the complimentary pickled watermelon rind, though. Overall, a good experience.
