This used to be great place, but now it's a waste of my time and money. The food is consistently awful, tots that taste like old oil. Please do not try the "shrimp boil" which will be a bowl of shrimp swimming in old bay butternothing else. The beer on tap is typically flat, so now I ask for bottles. Im not sure why I still go here, minus its close to my home.

After trying over and over again to give this place a chance to pull it together, we give up. It used to be one of our favorite go-to places and we love supporting locals. Someone along the way stopped caring about this business and it shows. The food is no longer good and in fact seems old and reheated. The servers give blank stares and seem confused and/or bothered. The prices are crazy for the lackluster quality. There's absolutely no reason to go back to Famous Joe's anymore. Call me when you have new owners/managment!

Check your tab, bartender charged me for two different drinks I didn’t order and service was sub par. Used to be a great place.

@5:00 on a Tuesday, it is a nice place to have a drink and a smoke outside. Sadly it isn't a 20's or early 30's type singles crowd. Food is good and if you are a regular with good people you'd have a decent time.

Excellent wings with many flavors to choose from and bar staffs are the absolute best! Great food and very affordable compared to similar restaurants in the area. Highly recommended.

We used to come here all the time. The food was good, the service was always great. But after today, this place is just losing its edge and allures.
We order per usual mozerella sticks (basically string cheese deep fried) which is absolutely delicious. They served ours and they were not even hot nor melted. So they made a new portion. And they tool half. Of the bill. So all and all well handled by the server.
The service is slow and sub par and that is not the servers fault. There is only one server to deal with the lunch shift. Which is ridiculous by any standard.
The sweet tea was pure sugar water, mind you sweet tea is suppose to be sweet. But boy o boy, our teeth fell out just looking at the glass. Let alone if we took a sip For a place that has a bar attached to it?! You do not expect that at all.
Then we walk to the front to pay our check, again took a while before we could pay and leave. Due to the fact only one server is on duty.
The food is good once done correctly.
However the two stars are based on service lack there of. And that is not the servers fault, it's the mediocre new owner(s) that lack business experience it shows. When Pete run it, we would never had issues like this at joes. Ratings are dropping fast for this place.

If you like going to a restaurant and not eating food this is the place to go. We threw in the towel after waiting nearly an hour for two cheesesteaks and a kids chicken fingers. Maybe they were having an off night, but that's likely due to poor management. Hope you have better luck than us.

Delivery was late, wrong order. Agreed to remake our food and send it out since they had given our order to another customer (additional 40 min). They did let us keep the hotdogs we didn't order buns are covered in mold, and the hot dogs look petrified. Couldn't have messed this up any more.

We really like every thing about Famous Joe's. Usually just Bob and I go but today we brought the grandkids. The staff is just wonderful. The food is very good. We have never had a bad experience there.

One of my favorite hangouts in the Buford area. Good supply of beer and a pretty nice cajun chicken philly. Always clean, Friendly staff.

The food here is great! I have yet to order something I didn't like. I usually order what's on special. The last time I had a grilled chicken Philly as part of their but one get one and I'm dying to go back to order another one.
Sometimes the service can be a bit slow, but they make up for it with friendly staff.response / report this review
