A little piece of Baltimore's history, Faidley's is a fast moving fish market that also serves lunch. My wife LOVED the crab cakes, and the fish sandwich I had was pretty good. The only real drawback is for those in wheelchairs, there are only hightop tables. If you are willing or able to see past that, it is an interesting place to have lunch.

Seriously, the best crab cakes and oysters I have ever eaten. Bonus points for being a family-run business. It was such a pleasure to meet everyone.

Quasi-fresh food is great but has high price. I got the lump crab cake with mac and cheese and marinated veggies as my sides. The crab cake was good but unevenly heated - probably because it was microwaved. It was flavorful but why don't they serve the freshly fried crab cakes? I would expect more (quantity and freshness) for $20.

This place was AMAZING! Not only was the food great but the service was awesome and the atmosphere is very cool. Perfect for adults, however if you have small kids sitting may be an issue as this is a standing dining (we were actually offered some stools by a nice employee). We felt so lucky that we stumbled upon this place while on a family trip to the aquarium. Totally planning an adults only day where we can enjoy the raw bar and walk around a bit more.

I was visiting Baltimore and saw Faidley highlighted in a video about Baltimore places to visit. Sometimes this could mean a tourist trap - but not this place. Food was wonderful and a very good deal for the quality you get. Long line of locals at lunchtime was a good sign. Didn't disappoint. Plus the saw the owners (elderly now but still working behind the counters) whom I recognized from the video - obvious to see where the quality comes from as they are still engaged in the daily business after all of these successful years. Admirable. I had two types of crab cakes (lump and backmeat) and onion rings. I should have tried the soup and raw bar too but was too full. Worth making a pit stop off I-95 just to eat here.

Went because we saw it on TV. Met the owner, very lovely woman. Ordered a crab cake and fell in love that I went back for a second. Hands down the best crab cake I have ever had. Will for sure be going back and will also be having some shipped up to PA from time to time. This is a MUST do.

We went here because I saw it on a TV show. These were probably one of the best crab cakes I have ever had! The meat in the cakes are completely made with lump crab so every bite had a huge chunk of crab in it. And the cakes themselves were the size of softballs! They were seasoned perfectly too! Faidley's is located inside Lexington Market so don't expect a traditional restaurant setting (seats, waiters, etc). But it is a pretty cool atmosphere.

We had to wait for about an hour just to get two seats at the bar. Arrive early!!!! The must try's are the seafood tower and he lobster roll!

Simple Formula: Best crab made into the best crab cakes. They use MD crab when it's available, and when it's not they exclusively use Blue Crab. They are simply perfection!

Who trusts signs at restaurants that made grandiose claims to be the best? Well, in Faidley's case, you can trust them. They claim to be the best crab cake in Baltimore and it's no lie. For $12, you can get a crab lump that's perfectly breaded, fried, and full of quality crab meat. It's worthy of 6 stars if Yelp allowed it.
However, the crab cake saves this place from a 2-star rating. My wife ordered the white crab soup and it wasn't very good. The bread bowl it came in wasn't fresh. My Monday night dinner buddy ordered two sides- macaroni salad and cole slaw. Both were pretty bad.
It's a fun space in Lexington Market, but it's an in and out place. There are standing tables only and usually crowded, so eat and go, but definitely stay long enough to savor every bite of that crab cake.response / report this review -

So bland. Crab cakes are pretty big, but they aren't all that they are cracked up to be. I've definitely had better. I also got a soup and a bread bowl to go, and they put the soup inside of the bread bowl which I didn't realize until I got home. It's common practice to put the soup on the side and you add it later to the bread bowl. So the soup was everywhere inside the container and the bread was super soggy. And on top of all that, it wasn't even that good. I tried calling and they were SO RUDE. Can't understand why everyone loves it here so much. Lack of options I guess. I won't be returning.

Wonderful family owned place. No seating(standing with cocktail tables).Crab cake was delicious. Had a few bites before my ravenous 8 y/o ate it up on me. Staff was incredibly polite and helpful(brought my exhausted child a stool to sit and enjoy).It was well worth the walk. But next time I'll walk straight through the Lexington market to get there.
