Beautiful place with easy, level hiking trail. 4 stars instead of 5 because the reserve is small so there’s a limited number of trails. Still worth a visit to see 600 year old trees!

Worth the drive to find it. Not handicap accessible, paths are full of rocks and roots and can be muddy, but keep persevering the trees are worth it! Nice hike with gorgeous big trees.

The biggest trees in all of the Keweenaw Peninsula can be found here. Giant white pines tower over the hiking trails, some of the last remnants of a forest that fell to the logger's saw long ago. Absolutely beautiful place. The road in is dirt and typically passable by all vehicles in the summer and fall. Spring can be dicey, and in winter it's a few mile snowshoe or ski to get here (or via snowmobile). Perfect place for a relaxing hike!
