My family and I were very excited to hear that our application was approved and that they were going to put a dog on hold for us to adopt. As I was on my way to pick her up from Rio Rancho I got a call saying that she was chosen for someone else. Very sad family over here.

I am very disappointed to hear that espanola shelter is a kill shelter. I agree that the Barkin Attic use to be a lot of fun and now I never visit the store.

This used to be such a great place - nice staff - interesting items - and a good place to drop off your donations, knowing they would go to the Espanola pet shelter. Now all the staff has been fired, the new manager is an arrogant unfriendly yuppie and they don't take donations. Plus, I found out that Espanola is a kill shelter, and the ASPCA has tried to help them and they won't accept support. THE END.

Barkin Attic always has such interesting things! I went in looking for a sofa table. Though I didn't find one, I found everything from framed art to china to tables, chairs and even pet food! (I guess the last one is because sales from the store benefit the Espanola Valley Humane Society - makes sense). The store is also located in what's becoming a cluster of antique/consignment shops. That makes it convenient to hit several stores during one general trip.

Excellent quality consignment items. Store managers are very knowledgeable and they can pick up items for consignment or deliver purchases.
