Great selection of quality furniture, including environment friendly products. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Would definitely shop here again.

Third negative experience with Emerson's. I so want to shop locally but will NEVER shop there again. This most recent experience had to do with a chair I ordered in late November. I was told I would have it before Christmas; I paid for it and waitedand waitedand waited. I had called 4 different times and never received a call back. Not only that, their message system does not say when they are open or closed. In fact, I got a message telling me their summer hours! Needless to say, I was furious, and finally was able to catch them open and went into the store. I got my money back! I wonder if Emerson's takes payment and then sits on it for a month or so. Whatever. I will never do business with them again. So unfortunate!!!

We bought a sofa, bed and mattress during this big sale they are having now. We dealt with Rick, the sales person. The sofa was to be ordered and we were told 3 to 4 weeks. On the receipt we noticed 4 week delivery. We could live with that and agreed to have all delivered at once since they would charge us two delivery fees. After 4 weeks, we had to call and check in and was told the company was later on shipping. We were given a set ship date. After a week past that date, we called and were told another week. We asked why we were not called and told this and why were we given a "set date" ? All this time we were dealing with Rick who never identified himself on the phone unless I asked who I was dealing with. I asked to speak to the owner, and was told he would be in the next day. The next day I called to speak to the owner and was told he was not there. Ten minutes later I got a call from Rick who said our couch was in and would be delivered that day Amazingwe are awaiting delivery at this moment. Our feeling is that past good comments are related to working with the owner directly. We will not be doing business nor recommending anyone to either as this feels very unprofessional, and non customer orientated. Orders should be tracked, people should identify themselves on the phone, basic professional follow up should occur and the very least take off the delivery fee to show good will.

Emerson's seem to have few systems in place to take orders, track orders, and communicate with customers. We ordered a couch and they wrote details down on a scrap of paper and gave us no form of receipt of purchase. Not surprisingly the couch we received was not what we ordered. When an issue arises they quickly disassociate themselves from the manufacturers. Very strange business model.

Great selection of top quality pieces at fair prices! Over the past 5 years of owning a business in Brattleboro, I have found Emerson's to be the top choice for finding quality furniture at very fair prices to suit both my business and my home. And of course, just as importantly, I have found the customer service and careful delivery to be top-notch! As someone who has tried in the past ordering online furniture at low-ball prices (and in turn sub-par construction) in hopes that it shows up as pictured, dealing with the troubles of returns when it shows up damaged, incomplete, etc. you cannot beat supporting local business and getting exactly what you are looking for in a welcoming, friendly setting at Emerson's!

i have had nothing but a great experience with emerson's , on all occasions i have dealt with the owner peter johnson and his son bryant has always been the best in helping me, as i am disabled , peter has given me good prices for solid wood furniture not junk ! he has always let me pay things off over time , as far as customer service above and beyond my expectations , they delivered my new furniture , got rid of my old junk , and even helped me move once at a very fair price , his son bryant has even helped me re arrange my furniture , emerson's and the entire johnson family are number 1 in my book and i recommend them to all my friends ,
