  Established in 1702, this is known as America’s oldest residential street and today is lined with more than 30 houses, dating from the 1720s to 1830s.

  Elfreth’s Alley is well-known to most locals & visitors, but Bladen’s Court is a hidden courtyard off the alley that packs even more punch. Rumors are that it is haunted & a soldier was hung there.

  While Ben Franklin did not invent the exterior mirror fixtures, he was known to refer to them as "Mother-in-Law Watchers."

  rumor has it that when Ben Franklin lived off this tiny cobblestone alley he invented the exterior mirror fixtures, to tip him off on his wife’s arrival and release his paramour(s). Cheeky!
