This is like one of the nicest still not very tourist know about beaches.
Its a small one, doesn't take that many people or cars to park, it's not easy access as you will have to walk down the stairs from the road.
Once you get down, it is one of the nicest beaches there, still natural, surrounded by rocks, and have some of the most beautiful natural views of big rocks right on the shore.
When it is quiet, the waves sound hitting the rocks is breathtaking.
It is not as enjoyable when crowded on weekends as it is a tiny beach.

I went here on a field trip for my oceanography course. There are actually so many cool organisms if you search around. We saw anemone, sea stars, mollusks, hermit crabs, barnacles, and others. Very pretty beach as well.

Cozy little spot with a nice drive from the airport vicinity. The coastal drive was what made the drive completely worth it and views of beautiful homes. I will most likely come back here to show other friends 😊

My favorite beach in the Los Angeles area! A beautiful beach framed by boulders and rocks some of which continue out into the water. A favorite spot for photographers and filmmakers due to its beauty and unusual sights. Well worth the 30 minute drive from the Santa Monica area.

This place is absolutely amazing! El Matador sets itself apart from other local beaches with its rock formations and sea caves. A photographer's dream. Also, because of its North / South orientation, you get both sunrise and sunset photo opportunities. Most West Coast beaches are known for sunsets, El Matador also has a beautiful sunrise to the east (photo attached). I can't wait to go back, I wish I lived closer.

Amazing spots for photoshoot!! But the way go down to the beach is slippery. I mean it's downhill but only with the sands. So be careful. I saw a group of guys walking down the hill with their huge photography carrier tho.

We love this beach. It is the iconic beach with all the great sea stacks. When the tide is right you can walk around all over the place. It's beautiful and picturesque. You won't be disappointed if you go. There are often a lot of people taking family photos or wedding photos here. It's not a beach where you lay out and soak up the sun. It's more of a photo spot, exploration spot beach. It doesn't usually get very crowded. There is a set of stairs that are decently steep so it might not be a beach that everyone can get access too if you have mobility impairments.

This place is wonderful for hanging out. Not so much for swimming because of the rocks. A lot of folks come here to take family photos with their photographers so be mindful of the space you walk in -- some folks will be asking you to move. $3/hour parking or $10 all day. Be there early to find parking as it fills up real quick!

The most beautiful beach in southern California by far. The caves and rock formations are beautiful! It is a bit of a hike down to the beach. Park on the right side of the road to avoid towing or find a spot in the small parking lot. Go through one of the cliff caves at the North end of the beach to find a cavern. Then go through on your hands and knees to find the secret beach on the other side! Nobody knows how to get there and there is never anyone there!

Only down fall is that there are so many rocks in the water that it is hard to swim without getting hurt.

Lovely beach all around. Rock formations and cliffs add to the already breathtaking view from above. Small beach, but typically not very crowded. I very much enjoyed coming here and would definitely visit again. Park alongside the road for free as the paid parking is limited.

It's rather hard to access. It also only has gross portable restrooms, so it's a good idea to use the restroom before coming. However, the beach itself is beautiful and not super crowded. The pictures don't do it justice.

Cliff side beach, with beautiful scenery. Great photo spot. It's very simple so bring your own food and water. Parking can be difficult, the official parking lot is too small and you might find yourself parking on the road, which is littered with no parking signs.

Cute "wild" beach, pretty small though so it can get very crowded on the weekends. They have a paid parking lot which is convenient!
The waived here are quite large, so hard to swim. Water like everywhere in California is cold even in summer.

Fun beach with cool stone formations. Good places to sit in the shade. Parking was difficult and water was full of seaweeds but nice to sit on the beach and relax.

We went during high tide and had a blast. The west coast waves will batter up against the rocks, it's a lot of fun to run through. At sunset, the rocks are beautiful and not too hard to climb if you are a regular rock climber of any merit.
