There is a lot of history with this bridge. A lot of courage and motivation to push to not accept anything in life but to push forward to make a change. My husband and I went on our first date by this bridge 26 years ago. He passed on 3-23-2018 & was buried 4-7-2018 after the funeral I took our children to the bridge where it was lit up. They saw the beauty out of all the struggle our ancestors went through to get us where we are today.

Great place to feel the weight of history. The museum on the city side is top notch and very accessible. Take the time to drive around the city and see the other places connected to the March. Talk to the rangers at the museum to see if one of the people involved in the March is speaking that day.

I participated in my First Historical March across the bridge, and it was totally Awesome!!!! This is a Great place to take your children to learn more about the Civil Rights Movement!!! A must for people of All Walks of Life!!!

It was an awesome experience. My wife and I got to meet one of the participants of the Bloody Sunday during the early civil rights movement . Not only did we get to meet Ms. Bland, but we got to hear how the movement started. I would definitely encourage everyone to take a trip to Selma, AL. for an in person experience.

This is a historical landmark in rural Alabama. The structure of the bright is well maintained and preserved. The thing the city need is to take advantage of this site to bring some business opportunities to the community.
