Nice State park campground on the beach, not too much around which makes this a wonderful destination for relaxing. New bathhouses thanks to hurricane Irma.

Nice quiet, beautiful location. Steps to the beach, hear the waves at your campsite. 30/50amp and water, although salty. No onsite sewer, but dump station up the road. Nice shower and bathroom facilities. No laundry. And laundry facilities are an hour away, so be prepared! Reasonable price in off season at $28, not sure what peak months run. Friendly staff - would recommend!

A beautiful place to stay. After a long day of riding the motorcycle I stayed here for the night and it was a beautiful nights rest. Sleeping in my tent listening to the waves crash was fantastic!

Enjoyed the quietness of the beach during this time of the year. We stayed at the campground and were surprised how close we were to the ocean that we could hear the waves from our window. There are an abundance of shells washed over the shore since the beach was restored since Hurricane Irma. It's any shell collector's galore with shells the size of the palm of your hands! The rangers are friendly and are keen about you checking in and checking out of your site on time. This will be a spot I will revisit when I want to camp out close to the oceanfront.

I spent a week of vacation there in mid-August and it was amazing! The view was beautiful, the people in the community were helpful and I got to see a baby turtle dug out of a nest. Highly recommend going.

Love this parkEdisto has been and will always be my Favorite Beach ever!!! No bars,no loud drunks,very family oriented, with many shells, fossils ,and sharks teeth to discover..Historical facts to investigate,a treasure trove of educational treats for the young ones to learn of and for the older kids (us) to appreciate Shark fishing for the Gentleman to pursue,are among the many things to do here at this beloved Beach
Camping almost directly on the beach ,bathrooms are close to the camp sites and clean.. (_when camp is open and available) this to me is THE Spot to be when the beach is the desired destination for thee!!!response / report this review -

Definitely a great beach to go to and also dog friendly! Leashes are required for the summer season, but that's no problem! I thoroughly enjoyed my visit here. The beach was clean and it wasn't too busy. I arrived early so parking was not an issue, or you also have the option to park at the state park for $5.00. Easy access to the beach and haul in whatever you need!

Best beach in the Charleston area. Never too crowded, they allow dogs year round. There's a ton of picnic tables right off the beach, well shaded by beautiful live oaks. Plenty of parking and a few walking trails. Its just such a laid back and peaceful beach, I don't feel the need to ever go to any other beach in Charleston.

Great experience! Even though it was the 4 of July weekend, we found a secluded spot and had a grand time in the water and hunting shells on the beach. A great place for vacation or to bring the family for an afternoon!

Always a favorite stop while at the beach and the best place to hunt shells after the beach renurishment project. Parking is too high. $4 for adults and $2 for kids. $5 a car would be more appropriate.

Great Family beach and camping. We come here every year. Beach has been rebuilt and extended. Beach campground is closed for repairs until maybe September. Forest campground is great and there are cabins for rent as well. Reserve spaces in advance online as the campground is often full. Trails are all open except the spur to the Spanish Mound shell midden, which was destroyed by Hurricane Matthew.

I came here as a child with my grandparents and really enjoyed our stay. Its a memory that has always stayed with me so I brought my kids here and they had also blast. I was surprised at how well the park has been maintained through out the years. Very clean family oriented park.
If you plan on staying to camp its wise to book months in advance as they fill up quick.response / report this review -

We love our state parks. Edisto is one of the most popular. It is a great place. The only issue really is its popularity. It gets full during peak season. They need to update their information about canoeing. Signs still show there is a canoe put in that was never built.
