Unfriendly staff, horrible customer service. They reneged on tee times booked over the phone and turned away 8 golfers. If you manage to get past the clown at the front desk, the course looks nice. Sad situation

Let me clarify that the course itself is 5 stars and really fun to play. However ever since the new management has taken over (the head pro Howard), the attitude has changed and definitely for the worse. I've had 2 bad experiences and one where they were willing for a group of 12 golfers to walk away from their tee times. I'll be back once the management changes. Please also take note of the last names of some of the reviews that are super positive and compare to the golf pros name. This course will be great again some day, but today is not that day.

Although the course conditions were good, their raincheck policy is a ripoff. I received a raincheck after parting for 18 holes with a cart and only golfing 8. Upon returning to use the rain check for 9 holes, I had to pay an additional 22 dollars to golf with a cart. A round with a cart normally would cost $64; but my 18 holes due to a raincheck cost me $86. I promise I won't go back just because of their policy.

Where's the zero star option? It's unfortunate that I'm posting this mid round as the course truly is in excellent condition. But who cares how nice the course is when the starter and ranger are rude and disrespectful to their guests? Our group was very prompt, friendly, and spent $500 at their course today. We were buying drinks from the friendly cart girl and the ranger yelled at us saying we should speed up. Don't support rude crabby employees, keep your moneynever too early to start your child's college fund.

My husband and I treated my parents to a round of golf today. The four of us have been vacationing at a local resort this week. We were looking forward to a good time together at the course but were greeted by a very rude course ranger. I agree with the previous reviews about the rude staff. There is no way improvements have been made regarding staff. The course ranger was bossy, sarcastic and truly a bully. He accused us of being late but according to our watches we were to the box 5 minutes early. He snapped at my husband when he asked a simple question as if he was putting him out to ask questions. We golf at several different courses in wisconsin throughout the summer and none of the courses we play at have staff like this. The man working at the desk was unfriendly, cold, unprofessional, and condescending. The phone recording at the course states that golf digest rated the course as 4 star. If they hire new welcoming staff then it could possibly earn a 3 star rating - as it is now I would not rate it any higher then a 2.

Best experience I have ever had golfing in the North Woods. Truly feels like you are golfing in the wilderness.

I loved this course! The staff was so helpful and it made the whole experience a gas. The course itself is challenging and we enjoyed that. The course is in great shape even with all the rain. I certainly look forward to playing it again.

While the course was good, I have never had such a poor experience with staff. At best the course ranger was a bully. Very rude and angry. And that was before we had even hit our first shot. It was all downhill from there. If you only want locals make it a private club. The staff seemed very put out by paying customers. The 2 groups behind us commented using much more harsh terms their thoughts on the Ranger. I would only go back if there was a staff change. The course was in good shape and we loved all of the wildlife.
