Every one is completely committed to your pet's health and your peace of mind,
On a Saturday that is only opened to 1:00, I called in the morning because there was something wrong with my dog and I didn't know what. They were able to get me in on short notice. I expected everyone to be in a hurry to leave so they could start their weekend but the care we received exceeded my expectations even if it was during the week. The doctors aide, I think her name was Monica O., was so loving, caring and gentle with my suffering dog I was astonished!! The doctor, didn't get her name but was equally as caring and worried.
She told me that I am not leaving here until we have him on some kind of treatment plan. They both helped while drawing blood and you can tell they have a deep love for animals while cuddling him and he never flinched during the blood draw.
They found out what was wrong with him and we left with medication. It's only been 2 1/2 days but he's already showing signs of improvement. I could not have picked a better place to go and was blessed to have such incredible and amazing people working on him. I will NEVER GO ANYWHERE ELSE!!!!
Took care of my boy after his accident and gave us the best outcome we couldve hopes for :) extremely grateful!
Caring staff that seem to enjoy what they do.
They are very caring. They worked with us for payments when we had to bring our pet
The best in town! No other Vet offers the services that are available here.
I made the mistake of putting a fish hook in my finger instead of a fish. I went to the ER and was treated with care and professionalism from the check in to the removal of the hook. Eagle River should be proud of their hospital. A special thanks to NP Theresa Bruss for the great job she did. Bob
When our dog developed a urinary tract infection on Labor Day weekend, we called several animal clinics in the area. Most had numbers for after-hours emergencies, but only one actually answered the emergency number. (The others, in Rhinelander, didn't even call back.)
We took Mika over to Eagle River, arriving at 5:30pm on Saturday evening. We had a wait, as Dr. Carey Johnson had several animals in front of us (seems like others found her to be the only one open as well.)
When Dr. Johnson got to Mika, she did a complete exam, and found via lab tests that she (Mika) did in fact have a pretty serious infection. Dr. Johnson was very thorough and caring, and gave us a write-up, medications, and follow up instructions to bring to our regular vet, including suggested tests for ailments more common up here than in our home urban environment. She stayed quite late for us (6:30 or 7:00 pm before we left).
Only drawbacks: Little support staff during off hours, so the doctor has to cast about invoicing on the computer after the services. Her time is more valuable than that. Also, office call was $100 plus meds, pricey but not terrible for being available during off hours.
We strongly recommend Eagle River Animal Hospital and will use them again if Mika needs attention in the Northwoods.
