Fine place good doctors fine staff
Dr. Dvorkina is a very well-mannered and caring professional. My family has gone to her for many years and continue to visit her - especially since she is bilingual in Russian and English. I have to say she is a very good doctor, the best in that particular office. The office is also very conveniently located near Jay Street so you can take virtually any train to get there (even on a weekend when the trains always run funny). But yea, I really like this doctor.
I went there today to meet a dentist from ZocDoc. Mistakenly i've ended up on the their floor instead of my new doctors. I asked 4 individuals sitting at the main desk, "I am here for my appointment with Mr. John Doe." They all looked at me like i was an alien and handed all insurance paperwork to sign. They made me wait for 1h after processing all my paperwork and send me to a Physical therapist. The therapist told me she was not the doctor i was looking for. I am surprised, 4 people at the main desk does not know the name of the doctor they work for, No one didnt even ask me what was my health issue. I believe they have charged my insurance for the visit, or this might be a scam they play with people's health. I may have to call my insurance to find it out. But beware if you end up there don't sign any paperwork. If they can lie to you about the doctor, imagine with what purpose they do business there.
Doctor Dvorkina safe my life
I had THE most disgusting, unprofessional experience there. The office manager actually hung up the phone in my face. It was so ridiculous that I cannot even begin to type the entire drama here. Long story short, if you have an emergent issue, don't go here. If you want prompt medical attention, don't go here. After one month I was finally able to get an MRI done and the imaging place, east river imaging, which was excellentsent the results to Dr. Koogan's office on Thursday morn. I didn't expect to get a call about the results that day but perhaps they next day, Friday.
I was having the test done to rule out a clot in my brain. Seems to me that you would want to discuss the results with the patient ASAP either way. If it's abnormal, to discuss immediate treatment and if it's normal, to ease the patient's mind. I waited until today, Monday to call since I had not been contacted. I was told that they did indeed have the results. I asked when can I know them? The girl on the phone was like maybe on the 16th of the Dr. has time to call you that day. She is away until then. They only call if it's abnormal. So for clarity I asked that if I did indeed have a blood clot in my BRAIN, I wouldn't know until possibly next Tuesday? She said "yea basically". Really uncaring and unprofessional! I called the imaging place and had them email me my report and I read them to find out that the results, while not a blood clot, were indeed ABNORMAL. What if I were not a medical professional and unable to read my own results? Needless to say I have no desire to return there for treatment. Anna Kogan probably is a good neurologist but the way the office is run is disgusting. I was able to make an appointment to see another neurologist at Beth Isreal. I will see them well before this piss poor practice would have even let me know about my results.
Avoid.
I've been a patient at Downtown Medical Services for the past few years. I've always received the best care/service. The staff is extremely friendly and I always manage to get an appointment with either Dr. Dvorkina or Dr. Galilova. Both physicians are not only attentive but they are also very caring and personable. They took the time to address my concerns and answer all of my questions. I never felt pressured to have any unnecessary lab work or tests done. I'm so glad I found this place and I wouldn't think to go anywhere else for my checkups.
