The selection of books is quite impressive, but I found the person who was managing this particular branch of the Dollar Book Fair chain of bookstores, to be extremely foward with his political views, to the point where he dominated the better part of two hours of my time, with attacks upon my own political beliefs. After initiating a conversation with me (and maintaining iteven after I politely informed him that I had to leave) he repeatedly told me that I am 'psychologically damaged' for having Liberal political beliefs, and that I am "ignorant", "stupid", and "crazy", for once again, holding the Liberal political views that I do. He also insisted that women are too emotional and cannot think as well as men do, that Liberals are insane for believing in the possibility of a better world, that African Americans and other non whites need to 'grow up' and not complain about their treatment at the hands of whites, and that these same non white peoples "get in the face" of whites. I think that this store offers online purchases, which I would highly recommend, in order to save yourself a run in with this opinionated, rude, heartless, belligerent, and downright aggressive man. Only on a few occassions have I felt so bullied, condescended to, intimidated, and insulted, as I did in this store tonight. It is unfortunate that he behaved in this manner, because I truly enjoyed their selection of books.
Best bookstore, a large resource, very reasonable pricing, great soundtracks. If you go here, everything is $1. There is a special aisle of books in the back that are a dollar or two more and they are all in great shape and some are rare for around two-five dollars. I am grateful for having found this place as most of the KEEPER books in my library are from here. Will keep coming back if around. thanks
The hubs loves sci-phi, magic, thrillers, mystery and weird stuff. He was in heaven here.LOVED this local, small biz that is backed by their strong community. They have a cafe connected to it.BUY something! Amazing service.
Amazing, nothing else unless you mean positive stuff
When first going to the Laguna Hills Mall, I stumbled across this; I'm still proud of my decision. The books were neatly organized, the employees were nice, and the place overall is clean and welcoming.
However, if I had to list any problems with this, it would be that most of the books are child-oriented or about a topic like cooking or religion, but that doesn't bother me too much. As long as I can find a good book (I got six), I'm satisfied! And even if everything isn't one dollar, I don't have much of a problem with it.
I could hang out here forever! Seriously, this bookstore is THAT amazing.
