This place is one of the best places to get some delicious ice cream in Georgetown area. It has an upper floor where you can sit and get your work done quietly but it is usually busy in the afternoon. They have a great variety if ice creams but some of the flavors are seasonal. My favorite was the smoked strawberry one but it vanished as soon as summer went away :(
My brother punched me in the schnozz, but it was STILL a great outing. Amazing!
I loved the ice cream, but the alfajores (cookie) were terrible. I wish the Dolcezza gelato I see in my local grocery was as good as what I had at the store. Maybe sometime they'll expand their grocery store offerings.
This particular location is very nice in Georgetown especially in the summer. It has a couple of benches outside the shop where you can eat your ice cream and enjoy the nice spring/summer evening breeze. The ice cream is good gelato style ice cream, along with the inflated gelato prices, but it’s definitely worth trying. This place is not usually crowded and service is good.
Good, solid gelato, but a little pricey! Go for the taste, not for the quantity.
Good gelato but the atmosphere of the place wasn't what we expected
This gelato is truly unique. I tried this place quite a few years ago when living in Georgetown over the summer, and I was hooked. I came back a month ago, and the flavors are still great. One star off because it can be a bit too sweet and rich, but still amazing overall. The employees are always very nice and welcoming as well!
Amazing Italian Gelato!! You can choose two tastes with small($5.60)and three with Large($6.60).
Very friendly service with good flavors and reasonable sized scoops. It would be wonderful if they had more seating!
This was a very quaint and cozy spot. It was freezing cold in DC and we darted in for a quick cup of hot chocolate. Then we saw they had ice cream and other goodies. The flavors were not your usual flavors and they were all very good. This hit the spot after having a lousy dinner!
How could you ever go wrong with gelato.
Quite a delicious gelato and amazing spiced apple cider. Will definitely be returning to this quaint little gelato place during a hot day in Georgetown!
Cute little shop - the staff is super sweet and the alfajores are amazing - will definitely be back to try the gelato when it's a little warmer outside!
Dolcezza has unique flavored ice cream but their servings were too small for me (especially for the price). The taste was good, but afterwards I still wanted to go somewhere else for more ice cream! I got one scoop of the peanut butter and another of dark chocolate. Both flavors were very tasty on a waffle cone. The upstairs of the shop was very cozy, quiet, and would be a good environment for studying or reading. The staff were very kind.
Even though this Dolcezza lacked the roasted strawberry I so desperately needed one summer night, I won't fault them star-wise ;-) If you've read my other Dolcezza reviews, you probably know that I'm a huge fan of this local chain. I've been frequenting them since 2005 and I haven't looked back.
Dolcezza is well-known for their fresh, local, and seasonal gelato and sorbetto. Their flavors are both traditional and unique, ranging from pistachio to lemon opal basil. There are also rotating seasonal flavors like roasted strawberry, strawberry jam, and blueberry lavender. In addition to gelato and sorbetto, Dolcezza staff can brew a mean cup of coffee with their Stumptown beans. I absolutely love coming here for both gelato, sorbetto, and coffee alike. Hands down, they are one of the best in the biz.
Other locations in the metropolitan area are in Dupont Circle, Bethesda Row, Logan Circle, CityCenter, and Mosaic District in Fairfax. They also will pop up at the Dupont Circle Farmers' Market and the Penn Quarter Farmers' Market.
If you haven't stopped in, do so immediately! Best gelato in D.C.!
