Wonderful, honest, and talented professionals work here. I've been going to this salon for many years and I feel like I'm going to visit my old friends when I arrive. They have a fun, creative, relaxing environment for those who come by for a style. I would highly recommend this salon. I can't imagine why they would get any bad reviews.
Unprofessional and apparently untrained hairdresser butchered hair and rude manager would not return money or fixed. Should have read bad reviews on Yelp before going, now paying the price with hair that will take a year to grow out.
READ BEFORE MAKING APPOINTMENT
I would like to start out by saying my first experience with Diviniti Salon about a year ago was a pleasant one, great cut and color. Unfortunately the hairdresser I saw the first time has moved on with her career and left the salon.
This recent trip I was assigned to Rebecca. I was specific when making appointment that I had previously colored hair and I wished to go from brown to a lighter blonde. I was told Rebecca was skilled and would have a few options available to acheive this. I also brought with me the same diagram and hair cut instructions the previous hairdresser had used to produce my prior wonderful results.
MY EXPERIENCE WAS THE WORST I HAVE HAD WITH A SALON.
It was explained to me that it might take a couple tries to get my hair as light as I wanted. This made sense to me and was the gist of the conversation about the coloring process. After the coloring process the wet hair looked very yellow, but I was ensured it would look better dry. The the haircut began. I explained the diagram and provided a simple written explaination of the cut. I received head nods and okays. At no point did Rebecca say she felt uncomfortable with the cut. As she was cutting I felt she was comfortable because she did it very quickly and without much measuring, while last hairdresser had carefully measured each layer. It took her at least half the time to cut it, as she was drying the yellow was not going away and cut looked strange. She didnt ask my opinion, but quickly removed the smock and ushered me to the front at which time she disappeared without even a friendly goodbye or by explaining the yellow tone or how it could be aided.
I paid while saying I would call in later. The receptionist reaction made me more uneasy as you could tell she knew. I didn't want to jump the gun and wanted to at least wash and style myself and hoped tone was not as bad in natural lighting. This was a mistake. In the sunlight it was a bright cartoon yellow orange, and the haircut was nothing liked asked. It was chopped too short on top, huge chunks missing and the back had zero layers even though it was supposed to be an all over layered look. Everyone I know was appalled and agreed it looked nothing like it should. The next day i had no choice but to try a walk in salon because Diviniti was closed for the next two days. The hairdressers there were shocked. The girl immediately got the manager because the haircut was too bad for her to attempt to restore. They even gathered to watch the attempt to aid the horribly chopped hair. The hairdresser there was wonderful and helped it as much as possible, will mostly be helped with time by growing out. The color was greatly helped by toning which this walk in salon recommended and walked me thru how to perform.
IT GETS WORSE
Today I contacted the salon to give them a chance to make this issue right. I was offered no apologies. I was told they did see how messed up it was, agreed it didnt look good, but stated that Rebecca "was uncomfortable doing the color and the cut". Why was this not communicated to me BEFORE? If I would have known I would have appreciated the honestly and made a new appointment with an experienced hairdresser. They refused to refund or even offer an apology for this aweful experience. I am disappointed and not only out the $200 I spent for the cut and color but the money I had to pay to fix the mistakes.
BE WARNED
It is one thing to make a mistake, but another to refuse accountability. Highly disappointed.
This place is wonderful! Rhonda saved the day for my daughter and I after we had our hair ruined by a very expensive shop in Dillworth. It was a week before her wedding and we spent over $550.00 on our hair to only look like we did it ourselves. I will never go to another salon, It's not often that I write praises, but this place is very deserving of it. They are number #1 in book.
I called to schedule appointment for my daughter and myself. I was scheduled in the same day for both! AWESOME! Ronda and staff are VERY friendly, accommodating and professional! You know the old saying, you get what you pay for? Well, this is my experience here. My daughter wanted her long hair cut off. When you're doing that, you don't want just anyone to be cutting on your hair. You want someone that takes the time and effort to think about the BEST way to cut each individual style! Ronda obliged and my daughter's hair looks awesome, STILL! She has gotten THE most compliments! Thanks, Ronda! See ya next time! :)
I LOVE diviniti salon. The girls here are always very nice and upbeat. When you are getting your hair done, it isn't the usual small talk most hair stylists do, they actually remember what you tell them and its like having conversation with an old friend over lunch! I have had several things done to my hair - from highlights to completely dying my hair and so many different styles over the yearsI enjoy going to get my hair done at Diviniti Salon and bring all my friends here!! They also just started doing nail services -- SO awesome! You can get your hair done and your nails done at the same place. If you are looking for another hair salon, go to Diviniti - you will not be disappointed.
