It was a great place to hang out and camp. Very peaceful. They have kayak rentals a little gift shop. There is a little station not even 5 minutes down the rd. That has some great icecream.

Great amenities for camping and there was a fun rock to jump off of into jocassee!! The water is beautiful and cold always so this made for a great early summer camping adventure with some friends. There is even an on-site bath house so if mother nature is a friend but not your best friend it still works out pretty well!!!

This is a nice state park in the upstate SC. We have camped here a couple of times and it's been an okay experience. The layout of rustic sites is nice. Some are facing the water and some have a nice wooded edge. Be prepared to haul your items to the rustic sites as there is a general parking area versus drive in. It's not terrible and if you bring a wagon, it will prove invaluable! My complaints about camping here is the tent pad size versus the amount you pay. Other parks are half the cost but larger tent pads. To me if I'm rustic camping then the cost should reflect that! The bathrooms are always clean even though they need some water control tweaking. Overall it's a nice park with small amenities.

Beautiful camp ground right on the lake. Woke up every morning with the sun over the mountains. The water for the lake is so clear! I just sat for long periods of time to gaze at the water. Then at night, there is bearly any light around which makes star gazing wonderful. I just had a blast.
A word of caution. If you are going to camp on the primative sites and want to further on to the peninsula, it is going to be a bit of a walk, but it is paved. Also, the wind can get strong out there, because of the lake affect.response / report this review -

Beautiful spot to bring the whole family. The park has plenty of tables for picnics right by the lake . If you've got a boat there are two ramps to put your boat into a great lake.

Just a wonderful place to go to unwind and enjoy being. The water views are beautiful, they have villas, camping areas, some hiking trails, a boat launch and place to rent kayaks and canoes.

Great vacation destination. The lake itself is a huge draw, and well worth the trip no matter where you go. This state park is a great access location for the day. Boat ramp and beach are both clean and easy to access.

We kayaked on Lake Jocassee and it was beautiful. We rented a kayak from Eclectic Excursions for $40 for four hours and they also gave us a map and a dry box. The only missing star is because we struggled to find any of the waterfalls, but I realize that is in large part due to our novice level map reading. We could have used more direction or maybe a more user friendly map.

Absolutely loved paddling around in Lake Jocassee. Beautiful coves. We hear there are waterfalls, but we never found them.

Love going to lake Jocassee! Be sure to get to the park early because it can fill up quickly and the park workers will turn people around if it's too full.

Exceptionally busy with limited parking during their peak season (mostly summer) However, if you can get in it is absolutely beautiful with lots of stuff to do. Camping, fishing, and (crowded) beach access. You can even rent a pontoon among other things. Good place for families.

i love this place and will definitely come back again with my family. there are multiple areas to get into the water and an awesome wire suspended bridge that moves as you walk across it. it's like 4 dollars a car i think

This park has a lot to offer. The villas are very nice and located on Lake Jocasse. Our villa had a fantastic view of the lake and 2 porches. The park employees were very nice and helpful. The villas offered our family a great way to see this beautiful part of South Carolina.
