This is a great facility. Inexpensive rated for camping, cabins or RVs. Desoto State Park is home to some of the most breathtaking views in Alabama. There are plenty of activities her for the hole family. This is a great place to spend a few days to get away and relax.

Great place to hike with dogs and kids. The trails are clearly marked and easy to follow. Some are more are strenuous but still easy enough. The rocks and waterfalls are numerous.

One of the best state parks in Alabama. Beautiful trails, great campground, and friendly people. DeSoto Falls is obviously the main attraction, but don't skip the Indian Falls trail that starts at the sewage treatment facility. It walks you right over the top of the falls and then snakes around for some breathtaking views at ground level.

I camped here with family last week during fall break. The campground is well kept and fill featured. We were tent camping, but paid for a full hook-up so we could have power. The bathhouse was conveniently located and very nice and clean. We found out after we arrived that the hook-up included cable TV! Nice if you're in an RV with a TV. Another surprise was that they have WiFi at the campsites! Wow. We used it to stream a college football game and it worked great.
Unfortunately, we were rained out in the second day, so we didn't see much of the actual park.
I would highly recommend DeSoto for camping.response / report this review -

Absolutely beautiful. We stayed in a little cabin and absolutely did not want to leave. We loved waking up and drinking our coffee on the porch and loved the view. We decided to walk a trail behind the cabin and the trail was easy and the view was astonishingly beautiful! We can't wait to go back!

This is a beautiful state park and my wife and I cannot wait to camp there. I will update this post after we camp there. So we finally got to camp out at Desoto State Park and it is more wonderful than the first time we came to visit. There is so much to do and see. It is a full hook-up RV site with easy access to the campgrounds. Several different places to hike and site see and explore. Friendly park staff and the campers are good folk as well. If you haven't been here put this place on your list of places to go.

Great place to camp. They have everything from rv spot to drive up primitive spots to backpacking sites. Enough hiking trails to keep you busy for a week and flat water boating a short drive away at Desoto Falls (whitewater available during the spring). Spring or winter is the time to go to see the best of the numerous falls, most of which can be viewed with less than 1/2 mile of walking.

Nice park with beautiful scenery. Stayed in pet friendly cabin #9, nice location. Limited things to do within park, but lots to do and see outside of park. Would recommend.

Very nice restrooms and park facilities. Excellent hiking trails and geographic features in the park. Park patrol does a good job monitoring the area.
