It is very empty during the off season. Almost like a ghost town. It can get windy and chilly here so bring appropriate clothing and/or sun screen.

The walk there is nice but they shouldn't call it an "amusement park". The rides are cheap and unsafe looking without mentioning how expensive they are. Even my kids thought it was something silly!
The rest of the area around and the various little shops are great and you can find some restaturants there as well.response / report this review -

My husband and I were impressed, June-August 2017, by the changes made in the last several years. We look forward to seeing even more improvements when we return in the summer of 2018.

I gave it a 1 star as it was necessary for the review, this place does not look like the pictures. Homeless people ( nothing against it) but there allowed to just hang out, honestly made me feel really unsafe. They were sleeping on the benches and sand. My children wanted to play in the sand but after the feel it gave me I was terrified about what can be laying around the sand. Don't take your kids here.

I like this boardwalk. If youre a fan of flashy touristy "shiny" places then you should avoid this. If you want something with ambience of a nice Florida getaway look no further.
I can't lie.I wouldn't ride some of the rides and the homeless people on the benches at night are not appealing, but in the grand scheme of it all I did feel safe and secure.
Its easily accessible from the area hotels and you have a variety of things to entertain you. Be sure to stop by when you're in the area.response / report this review -

Love the fact that they have a small amusement park for kids. Kids roller coaster, ferris wheel, and a few other little rides right on the boardwalk. Great view of the ocean. They also have several little restaurants where you can get pizza, hot dogs, sandwiches, Etc.

Just returned from Daytona Beach Shores. One night we decided to go up to Daytona and see visit the boardwalk. Looks good online, but turned out not so much. First, be prepared to pay $10 or so for parking and search for a spot forever if you want to park close. Didn't seem like they had enough parking available for the volume that visit. We ended up parking in the Shoppes parking garage after spending 20 minutes or so trying to navigate around. If you do end up in the Shoppes garage, you'll have to walk a bit to get to the boardwalk. Second, homeless occupy nearly every bench on the boardwalk. I don't mind normally but have never dealt with so many in such a small area. They all seemed to have palm dolls they were trying to sell. Third, while walking towards the food/ride area we heard a voice come over a megaphone, spewing nonsense about repenting our sins and pointing out a few people amongst the crowd and calling them, "abominations" and telling them they were going to Hell. Mind you, a few of these people they were talking about were no older than 18 or 19. Three guys began walking throughout the boardwalk; one with the megaphone, the other two following behind carrying big signs and handing out cards. What a joke! The whole area looks run down. Huge hotels sit behind the boardwalk that bring droves of people so it was very crowded. We didn't make it very far after that due to the horrendous experience leading up to the ride/food area and left to go back to our condo in Daytona Beach Shores (an area I highly recommend.) Not for one second did we feel safe, comfortable or have any desire to be there.

I planned a trip to Daytona and we wanted to go to the boardwalk. I looked at the pictures on google and it looks NOTHING like the pictures. There's no huge Ferris wheel. The workers are just rude and perverted. The ticket booth lady was rude. My friends and I started to get on a ride and the ride went up then came back down. The guy didn't know how to work it. One man told me that they sell wristbands but they don't and they are ridiculously overpriced. The roller coaster is $6 a ride. Would not recommend to anyone.

I came back here 2017 in 2011 it was nice but it looks run down now. Beach is stilll nice.

I went to the Boardwalk with my mother and family and we had fun viewing the beautiful beach and a magic show. We also were greeted with more than 3 people who asked if we needed someone to take pictures for us (which I found very sweet). Great place for you and yours!

One of my favorite vacation spots. However, the homeless and begging has multiplied over the years. In addition, there is ALWAYS construct going on near the Boardwalk The plus side is the summer concerts and fireworks - as well as the Ocean!!! :)

Super dirty! Don't buy anything from the shops either. I bought a shirt and after the first wash the letters all came off. "Amusement park" if you really want to call it amusing, was shut down and looks trashy. Better beaches north and south of here.

Amazing view but people were gutting fish on the pier and ignoring signs saying not to. Felt unwelcome walking down the board walk due to the number of fisherman and fishing poles. Strong fish smell and fish guts grossed me out, it's a shame because the view was amazing from the end of the pier.
