The front desk clerk was very nice and helpful, and the outside of the building looks fresh and new. Inside, though, is an old building, with old creaky floors, old doors, but new paint over the old, cracked paint. Some fixtures were inexplicably rusty, the bathroom outlet didn't work, and the door frame in there had a fair bit of water damage. Honestly, just ugly. I've stayed in motels as, uh, quirky or worse, but they were way cheaper than this place. It's not the worst place you'll ever come across and it WAS clean, but there will be better options for the price.
Looks like Black mold in ceiling in hallway, & floor in eating space for "breakfast" was filthy. Tables to sit down to eat a bowl of cold cereal was not wiped off - food from last person still on dirty table.
A worker came in from outside with a metal pipe that had dust & dirt on it which he wiped off in a garbage can right by the table I was sitting trying to eat at. The dust came towards my food & the loud clanging of him hitting the metal pipe on the garbage was also disturbing.
Loud voices of people partying until 11:30 pm, so obviously no 10pm Quiet Time.
The Health Department needs to see this place & bring it up to code.
Old property. Simple breakfast. Funny smell. Overpriced like ALL hotels in Skagit County.
Despite the little sign next to the bed that says save the world and reuse your sheets, there is absolutely no opportunity for recycling at this place. Styrofoam is everywhere for use at breakfast. Speaking of breakfast, it would be great to have a few hard boiled eggs so there was some form of protein available. The new blue carpets in the common areas are a big Improvement, and it would be nice to see that extended to replace the very stained carpets in the room where I stayed. I would have liked to have had a small refrigerator for the beverages I carry when I travel.
The clerks and the other help all seem quite helpful. My bed was very comfortable, and I thought it was a pretty good location, too.
We stay here several times a year to visit grandkids. Best rooms are available through Wyndham rather that second hand booking sites. Clean and comfortable. Not fancy.
Good value. Extremely nice and helpful staff. Very pleasant room. Very clean. I stayed an extended period of time and am being well taken care of.
Good location, room was tidy but gross at the same time. The bathroom was nice. Breakfast sucked, but attached to a Mexican restaurant.
2 stars only because the breakfast was good for a hotel Continental breakfast.
Hotel needs serious updating and smells of smoke in a lot of places. Pool is small and was too frigid even for summer. The pool only has 3 feet or 5 feet depth. Nothing shallower or in between.
Would not recommend this motel to anyone and will not stay again. We requested and were told our room was non smoking and no pets but I had allergic reaction and the Manager would not even discount $20. The toilet in the first room was falling off and there was extensive damage to the ceiling from water and you could clearly see the yellow on the ceiling from smokers. I was privileged to a conversation a guest had with the front desk regarding bugs in there room and the smell of cigarettes. The breakfast was ok it was free so can't really complain about it. The girls behind the front desk were nice and helpful. Location was good though close to outlet stores and the Mall.
Toilet is tiny and crazy short, luckily I didn't need to go poop lol. Rooms are decent and what you'd expect for that price. Cheapest decent hotel we could find. Liked it overall, just would be better if they put in a normal sized toilet
We stayed here for a couple days and there were tons of people that walk around at night, smoke right next to the door and my car got broken into.
If you're looking for cheap, then here you go but nothing else. We found blood on the doorframe and moved rooms next to someone who loved screaming in the middle of the night.
If you want a cheap stay with either waffles or cereal for breakfast, then you're good here. I'm from a ghetto area in Ogden, UT and thought that was bad, but Mount Vernon is giving it a run for it's money.
Great girl at the counter. Was helpful finding me a number for pizza that she knew would be open. Friendly and smiled. Other guests were friendly as well. Perfect place after a 36 hour straight drive with five min stops for fuel.
The quality of the hotel was definitely on the lower end of an average hotel. The walls of the entire building were soaked with smoke and the hallways were quite narrow and short. It was not convenient with large dogs because they could open doors and easily escape the room. The breakfast was fine but on the low end of food/drinks
