They're not big on having customer service skills. More smiles would be an improvement.

I love going to Dave's because everyone is always polite and helpful. They say hi and actually look you in the eye which doesn't happen in other stores. It's like they don't appreciate the customer not realizing that the only reason they have a job is because of the customers. Ignoring customers shows that that person doesn't really want to be there. I've been in customer service for over 35 years and I am a certified Customer Service Professional and I have trained people as well. I have been unemployed for over 5 years so it erkts me to see people who don't appreciate their customers or their jobs.
The other thing I like is you have the best fruit in town and your shelves and aisles are always faced, neat, and clean.

It's too bad the only review so far on Yelp was a negative one, as this store is a gem!
I get up to Merrill a couple times per summer to fish and paddle in the area, usually camping at Council Grounds State Park. This store is a godsend when I am in this area.
Their selection is very respectable for the size of the store and the size of the community. I've always been able to find whatever I needed. Indeed, when I visit the area I actually don't shop prior to leaving Madison just so I can visit Dave's.
The staff is almost overpoweringly positive and friendly. Even the cashiers genuinely seem to enjoy working there and treat customers with respect and interest.
Prices are actually very good, but of course I have the perspective of being from a city where food prices are a bit above average overall.response / report this review -

The store is laid out nicely and is clean. Conveinately open 24 hours a day. I have been in the parking lot using my phone to connect to free WiFi that they have available. Which is very important to me to connect with family and friends on Facebook and also looking up information on the internet.
They also have very good sales every week to help people save money and a gas saving program.
They also donate items to different food pantries in our community.response / report this review -

It's overpriced! They want you to buy local ,but when some things are a dollar or 2 more than @ Walmart, I'm going to Walmart!

We go shopping here every week. Always clean. Workers very friendly. We even have a favorite cashier we go to every time she's working even if we have to stand in line. Thanks Carol!
