I like airports like Dallas International, while all airports have signage and means to guide their travelers, some do a better job at that than others and in my view, that's the case with Dallas International. From the moment that you step out of a jet bridge and into the terminal, to the rental car lot, to the movers etc., the signs are well placed so that you know in advance the direction that you need to take; unlike some airports where I had to backtrack in order to identify the correct direction and as in most major airports, there are plenty of restrooms, shops and places to eat throughout the airport. I know that the airlines have their admirals club centers but, I am not certain if there is a spa or entertainment area and if there are, then for me that would make it a 5 star.

Its cool that in front of every restroom it gives you a live count of the number of available stalls and tells you the approximate distance and direction of the next closest restroom. There's also a 7-Eleven inside the airport that's open 24-7 with good prices and a cool variety. Wish there were charging ports near the reclining seats but it wasn't too serious because there were still many available ports. Overall, a cool airport experience.

Don't know that I am the right person to critique DFW Airport, because I work there. As far as airports go, I love DFW. I grew up with Love Field Airport to compare, and while it and many others I have experienced throughout my life, I really like DFW. For someone who doesn't know anything about DFW, it may be confusing, but taking the time to study it, just a few moments, it makes sense. It is well maintained, aesthetically pleasing to the eye, kept clean, provides great shopping, fantastic food, and even a minute suite to allow you to take a nap during long layovers. Feels like home to me.

All of the staff were helpful and courteous.
Love American Airlines!
The Airport staff was also very helpful and courteous.
We had a short layover,
So we tried the Salt Lick BBQ,
It was really good, reasonably priced ,
I would rate it 5 stars too.
We love traveling through Dallas/Fort Worth International and love that America Airlines has their hub there.
Great choice!

We use this airport a lot. It is very large so given its size it is fairly easy to navigate. The signage is good which allows you to find the skylink trains to get to your gates quickly. The gates have a kiosk to show restaurant locations which helps you find food on the run. Security is always around so that makes us feel safe. The security lines can get long at times but compared to other airports this one is better than average I think.

Huge airport, with an outstanding connection trains, fast move between terminals. Buses to rental car are provided, but be careful as it takes some time to get there from terminals. Plenty of restaurants and stores, usually crowded during peak hours. Terminal D is distinct, spacier and offering additional fine stores. Last reminder for connections, there are several weather issues during the year, affecting flight availability and when forcing cancellations, so keep an eye on what l weather forecast during your trips.

I caught the Dart Orange Line to DFW Airport to see how easy it was to get from the Dart Rail Station to all of the terminals. It was about a 3 minute walk to Terminals A, B, C & D. The minute you get to where the terminals are there is an "Information Booth" right there. I asked where a restroom was and it was up an elevator right next to the Booth on the upper level. I took pictures of pertinent Dart schedules and times and maps. Traveling with Dart is so much easier and cheaper and much less confusing than driving in your car to the airport. There's no toll to pay and you don't have to pay for parking. I also enjoyed the peaceful train ride out there.

Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) International Airport is huge!! They have a sky train to take you between terminals and they run every few minutes. Be sure to check out the sports stores to get your Dallas Cowboys gear.The food court has all kinds of cuisines available. There are lots of places in each terminal to grab a quick bite before your flight. They also have news stands where you can buy magazines, books, and locally made chocolates, pralines and much more. Be sure to arrive early (2 or more hours) because the security lines are always long.

This airport is HUGE! It is also surprisingly clean, comfortable, and easy to navigate. They have a great selection of stores and restaurants and the people are VERY nice. I had only 30 minutes before my flight boarded, and was hungry. There was a TGI Friday's right next to my gate, so I figured I'd risk it. They were so fast. I was there all of 25 minutes and didn't have to rush to eat, because everything came out so fast. Holly was the best server ever. It was excellent that all of the flights were perfectly on time as well!

This airport is okay. There are downsides and upsides.

Upsides:
This airport is a major hub. If you live in/near Dallas or Fort Worth, this airport is way better than Love Field. You can fly to almost any major destination in the world while only having to connect once. Also, the staff here are quite nice. I guess Texans are friendly in general. Also, this airport will take you to almost ANY destination in the southern U.Sespecially Texas and Oklahoma. This is perfect for short haul flights.

Downsides:
This airport is HUGE. It's larger than many towns, and spills across two different counties (Dallas and Tarrant). There are so many different highways and roads that lead to different terminals. If you're trying to avoid tolls on the way here, just don't. The easiest highways that are accessible to the airport are toll roads. The non-toll roads are absolutely horrible and confusing. Also, this airport is slightly closer the Fort Worth than Dallas. Getting here from Dallas is tricky. It's a lot easier from Fort Worth or any town in western DFW. Also, walking from one terminal to another on a connection will take FOREVER. This is a bad airport for seniors or people will physical disabilities.

That being said, this is probably Texas's #1 airport, but it has its downsides (mainly the size).

This airport, or at least the terminal I dealt with was filthy. You know that moment when you want to sit on the park bench but it has bird droppings all over it? You look closer to see if they're dry and then you look around for ANYTHING else to sit on but you don't see anything, so you sit, hoping that the droppings don't come off on your pants. I actually had that moment when decideing whether or not to sit on a bench in front of my gate. I ended up standing for 20 minutes instead.

Other than the horrifying landing and seemingly endless airplane drive from runway to gate, I guess there is nothing eventful to report.

This airport is set up terribly, not user friendly, and horrible for new visitors. It has 5, soon to be 6, different terminals. You need to know which one you are flying out of before hand, because if you get dropped off at the wrong one you have to take a bus, that is not very fast, to the other terminals. I would REALLY recommend not buying separate tickets through this airport, where you have to go collect your luggage and go check in with the other airline. It takes forever in this airport and could easily make you miss your next flight. The food options very drastically per terminal. The only good thing is once you are through security there is a train to take you to the different terminals. Also if you are going to E terminal just go to arrivals to drop people off. The only thing down on departures is the sky cap.

I have flown all over the world, and have only ever seen one other airport (Osaka Japan), where you had to pay just to pick someone up or drop someone off! You have to pay $2 at the toll just to drop off. Parking at least doesn't cost extra. They just charge you for how long you are at the airport.

Also warning If you set google maps to avoid toll roads, because they're all over Dallas, it won't take you on to the toll road you have to go on to get into the airport. It will take you on to a service road that you cannot access the airport from. It is a nightmare trying to get from that service road back to the toll road. You have to exit the entire airport area and come back around.

Upsides is the airport is clean, renovated, food options, two hotels attached to the airport, and lots of parking.

Top 3 biggest airports in North America always a nuisance with a big busy airport, shuttles, flight connections, etc. But this place runs like a Swiss watch and is efficient all around. Friendly staff, quick security - no bullying or unnecessary searches, good restaurants/bars/shopping. Only advice would be to not rent a car from or at this airport they do charge extra money from the original advertised and stated pricing and also very easy to miss a connecting flight if you land at one terminal and need to get to another.

I was seriously impressed by this place, compared to other American airports. Not quite up to the standards of somewhere like Helsinki, where security took less than 3 minutes, but they managed to do a security check in less than about 20 minutes, which was better than I expected. Once in the secure area, there were reasonable services, and it was well organized and not too crowded. Good friendly service, including the TSA and gate agents. Overall this airport was a pleasant surprise. The security agents were particularly friendly and helpful, as well as being efficient, and I was able to get a pretty good meal at a reasonable price.

Mike and Chris was really helpful. They listened to my problem and fixed the phone very good. They also have a great customer service. I recommend anyone who wants to get phone fixed to come down here

Loved this airport!!
They seemed to have a system down pack!
Security lines were short on a Sunday..went through at a good pace.
One thing I hated is that an American Airline employee said the only stroller you can take to the gate is a small umbrella stroller. Well when u have a baby, they can't fit in one of those, so we had to carry and hold our baby until our flight started to board, and wait for the stroller and car seat in baggage claim instead of right by plane. They honestly need to rethink that for parents of smaller ones who have to carry/wheel luggage as well.

Food establishments, bathrooms & snacks are all in short walking distance. Sometimes airport signage is clear and noticeable, but sometimes you really have to look around to find things.

Plenty of buses that transport you to and from your car rental. We had a driver that was yelling about every little thing, and made us fold down our stroller (even though the bus was no where near crowded) while another driver was perfectly fine with the stroller standing up with the brakes on, and helped us load it in and out.

One of the top ten best airports in the world. A huge, massive complex, with six terminals, all connected by rail transit, DART rail, buses and shuttles. Tons of restaurants, gift shops, bars, and cafes. Two luxury hotels, large rental car district, and everything is always clean and impeccably maintained. The amenities here are second to none. Modern, world-class facility which is all one can expect from a city like Dallas. Highly recommended.

This is a pleasant airport to fly through. When you are on a lay-over at Dallas, you will find comfortable facilities and helpful workers. There are also a great range of food options. All in all, this makes it great place to spend a few hours waiting for your next flight. Also, when I was stranded at this airport overnight the staffed worked to help make this hassle manageable. They succeeded, and as a result, I have found this airport to be a great choice.

Sure I'm biased by living in Dallas.
But really, out of all the airports I've been through in my life - and that's a fair number - DFW is the easiest to get around and most logically configured. It also has a 55 mph speed limit going through from one end to another. Find me another airport with that feature.
The international terminal is beautiful. It has some great features.
There is a really interesting artistic musical maze - photo attached. Great fun for young and old alike. The shoe shine guy is amazing! Take advantage of this opportunity while you wait.

At the time of this writing, things are a little crazy as massive renovations take place to expand the capabilities of this very popular destination, so leave a little extra time.
When it's finished (will that actually ever happen?) it should all be worth it.

I am always getting delayed through this airport. Flight after flight. At first I thought it was a fluke, it happens. However, after two years I realize it's not a fluke it is the norm. Its worse than O'Hare and I thought I'd never say that. Wish I could give 0 stars. Plus enterprise is 20 minutes away. Has good selection of food If you're willing to ride the train from terminal to terminal. Which hey, you'll be doing that any ways with all the gate changes and flight delays

Love the DFW Airport. Ability to park and walk across to the check in counters or to the baggage claim is something you would not find in other airports. The staff is very nice and helpful. Every terminal has plenty of security gates.
Terminal - D (the international terminal) is super nice
Every terminal has attached parking garages for long term and short term parking.

Great airport. Very well design for orientation, I've never get lost there that's for sure. There is some speed train each 5 minutes that bring you to the next terminal which his fast and elegant.

Jeffrey Koch's "review" is a bit one sided, and not entirely based upon fact.

First of all, there are over 100 restaurants inside of DFW (a fact from DFW website). If you can't find something to eat here then you are not hungry. Second, Terminal D is one of the best Terminals in the entire world in terms of shopping, eating, or simply architecturally. In addition, Terminal A within the last few months has been completely remodeled. Terminal C is the only Terminal I will agree that is an eye sore.

Connections at the airport can be tough if you have to connect terminals but the Sky Link train can get you there in 15 minutes.

Yes, car rentals are far and take some time and yes the airport is spread out but when you consider that it is one of the busiest airports in the world it certainly stands out amongst the best.

My star removal is partially based upon C Terminal and the fact you have to pay a toll to drop off or pick up your guest.

Points given for positioning of the airport in regards to the city, the terminals (other than C) and the destinations. I love my home town airport (Sit back down Love Field, not talking about you).

Wife was in Frisco for business 2 days ago, she said this airport knows what it's doing! Excellent setup vs our normal airport, Dulles. Everyone was very nice and helpful, even the TSA folks were quite kind. You had several security check in areas spread out in the airport. At Dulles it's one big mosh pit with a single security check in area, so Dallas Fort Worth rocks with very little security lines!
