I would go quite frequently to work on homework or job applications. Music is always played and generally calming. The loft area has six or so tables and overlook the rest of the cafe as well as the street outside. They make a lot of their own bakery items.

They don’t take allergies seriously. My friend who is extremely lactose intolerant went there and she had to explain multiple times that she can’t even have the smallest amount of dairy. This shouldn’t have been an issue because they carry soy milk, but the man, after she tasted it, said that he “added a surprise” to the drink. The man eventually told her it was caramel(milk and sugar) but she is shy and doesn’t like confrontation of any sort, so she just accepted it and walked away. Later that day, as expected, she got sick and our days plans were ruined. Also there is a lady that works there most of the time that constantly complains about anything and everything so much that we would walk by to see who was working before we would go in just to avoid her.

Friendly, inviting atmosphere; great coffee and tea. The staff is awesome. It's the kind of place you look forward to going to and you want to hang out for awhile.

Love it here! We stop in every time we're in Houghton! Staff is friendly and the coffee and Peanut Butter Cup shakes are the Best.

This place does tea right: same price for any size! You're using the same tea bag whether I get a small or a large, so why should I pay more for a large when the only difference is that it uses a little bit more hot water? $1.75 for tea is a great deal, they have a decent selection of interesting blends, and they've got a good variety of pastries too (including two different kinds of delicious vegan cookies!). The internet is fast and there's a comfortable lounge area, although I can imagine that it becomes crowded during the school year. Overall, highly satisfactory cafe experience.

Great coffee, great environment. I recommend you try their jumbo cookies with a nice mug of their house coffee.

Awesome place for coffee! They now accept cards which is hugely beneficial, be aware that there is a $5 minimum though. Staff are awesome, coffee is excellent and the atmosphere is great! Love this place!

Their ambience is amazing. Simple yet beautiful. You can refill your coffee, and sit for hours. They have free wifi.
