We did the overlook hike. It was neat and short (.5 miles), but would recommend doing the downstream trail. The lower trail is probably not recommended for small kids. Overall, very enjoyable.

I have loved this place since I was a child. Way before it was a state park. They have well marked trails and a decently clean bathroom/changing area at the parkinglot.

I love taking my dogs down the downstream trail. It's always clean everywhere we hike. Trails are clear of debris & easy to walk. I love it here. I feel closer to God

Great water fall, cool place to get off the trail and explore as well. The campsite there is very down to earth family owned and operated. It's a very cool spot for the family or an adventure of any sort.

Cummins falls is a gem. A short hike over steep terrain through the Forrest gets you overlook views or even to a great swimming hole at the base of the falls. Wear good shoes for hiking, and take water shoes with you if you plan to get wet. Also take water to drink! Consider visiting in the off season when it's cooler and leaves are off the trees for better views.

Nice trails, great for hiking, the biggest complaint I heard from people is that the "recommend water shoes for getting down to the falls, truth is if you want to get to the falls and pooling areas that you can see from the overlook, it is NECESSARY to cross the river!!!! We watched people thigh deep in water trying to cross over to be able to get to falls. We didn't make it down there as we were in jeans and boots. go prepared for it, they do not adequately prepare you for this in the parking lot in any way. We were very disappointed at that. Otherwise a very nice walk

Had a great day with the family here. We took our 11, 9, and 2 yr old. I will say that we will not take our 2 yr old again but he did make the hike and he did walk 90 percent. There's life jackets a park ranger and it was beautiful. If you do not normally hike this is a little tough. To experienced hikers it is easy. Would def go again .

Was in nearby Algood Tennessee for the eclipse and a friend who had family from the area recommended I visit Cummins Falls. I'm glad he did. We only had a short period of time after we arrived before the Falls closed But the few mile hike in and out was well worth it to swim in the pools below the falls and to stand under the Falls themselves for the 20-30 minutes we did have at the falls. If I am ever going to be in the area again I will definitely visit again and spend more time. It is a bit of a hike in and out. Both getting down into the canyon and out is a pretty steep staircase, and you have to hike up River in the Stream itself to get to falls once you get down into the canyon so it is important to wear good water shoes or sneakers conducive to walking through water.

This is a beautiful park. When we went there the weather was nice and water was 70F. It was good, It was quiet, Not many people there, Park was free. Restrooms weren't clean but since the park was a new one, I thought that is not a problem. There is quiet a walking distance between parking area and the fall. There are life jackets for children near the fall. If you go towards the fall, you would be wet from ankle to knee. The park closes at 6pm. Overall, I am so happy with my experience.

Absolutely my favorite park! Wear good water shoes! The majority of the hike is in the gorge. Be careful lots of slippery rocks and prepare for crossing in the water. When the weather is warm bring your bathing suit and swim at the waterfall!

Absolutely amazing. Please note that your shows will get wet. So come prepared. Don't even think of walking barefoot. Rocks can cut your foot. Also no washroom near falls. Only wash room is near parking and from there falls is about 30 - 45 min walk depending upon your speed and how many places you stop to take pics

It would be a beautiful place to spend some time however it gets really crowded in the warm months. If that doesn't bother you and you just want to spend some time splashing around then it's good. If you want to get away from people and just check out the awesomeness of nature you might find another fall to go to

Gorgeous landmark! A few suggestions. wear water shoes, tennis shoes you don't mind getting wet or all terrain sandals. It is a mile to the falls when using the shortcut. It is a little hard to navigate if you haven't done your research. About .25 miles is downhill to the stream where you'll finish off the .75 miles walk through a river area. Rocks are super slippery. Although it is a tough walk we did it with 6 adults and 7 children and we were very ill-prepared. Take bottled water in a backpack and nothing else. You'll appreciate the freezing cold swimming hole at the end of the hike but keep in mind you'll have to hike back.

This is a great park with some good hikes that take you through water, forest, and rocks. You end up at the falls where you can swim and otherwise enjoy the it all. We were there over Memorial day. It was really busy with hundreds of people but a lot of fun nonetheless.

Beautiful hike. My friends and I had a lot of fun hiking and swimming there. We saw some hikers with very young children, infants in carriers. Considering parts of the trail were very slippery and there were loose and jagged rocks I highly recommend not bringing infants or young children. There was a pretty strong current because of recent rain in the area. It's a state park. It's swim at your own risk as most natural places are. Read the signs, exercise caution and stay safe.
