They are a total rip off. At consultation they will tell you what ever they can to get you to sign on the dotted line. I asked for a couple days to think about it but the "great deal" was only good for that day. I was allowed two court appearances, which the first was to let the courts know I had representation. 2nd my lawyer was not prepared. The third would have cost me more money. He never contacted my ex husbands lawyer for anything, we meet in the hallway of the courthouse. They are lawyers, have their contracts down to a tee, (I tried to get my money back)and are just greedy, and lazy.
I didn't have a "big" case, but they knew from the start I didn't have a lot of money, and promised me the moon. Oh and by the way, their cost was double what my ex paid for 2 years of service, where mine was 4 months. If I could I would give them a negative 5 star, but had to atleast put one to get this to post.

These people are crooks! Totally made me promises that never kept. said "we can get your case done in 3 court cases or less" NOT!!!! & this was a simple divorce case that they freaking milked out for over 6 months & many, many court cases!!! I think even some of the paralegals felt bad cause I was getting screwed! I wish the they represented me instead!!! I even did all the leg work, made copies , & when we went to court they did nothing , said nothing to help my case what so ever!!!! DO NOT USE THEM!!!!!

The Crosby Law Firm handled my Divorce. I was very pleasantly surprised at how easy they made this process during a difficult time. They truly worked on my behalf and being nervous about the whole process, they made me feel at ease which allowed for a better night sleep. I then also decided to have Crosby Law handle my will and estate planning.

I suggest that the reader of this review seriously consider what I write here before deciding whether to give them your very important case or your money.

For the record, I am 55 years old and I have suffered from Bi-Polar Depression all my life. 2016 was quite literally the worse year of my life. The death of my mother under questionable circumstances was one of the many issues I was dealing with.

I include my name because I do not hide behind pseudonyms - especially when writing a very negative review. I stand behind everything I say ALWAYS. I am not a liar or a coward. And I feel no shame for suffering an illness such as Bi-Polar Depression. Nor should anyone feel shame for suffering depression. There is an awful lot in this world to be depressed about.

As Follows:

Mr. Crosby,

After giving the matter much thought, deeply considering the facts and events to the best of my ability, I find no other sound outcome other than to demand a refund of $9,000.00 for taking advantage of my state of mind at the time I agreed to hire the Crosby Law Firm.

The fact of the matter is this: As you very well know I came into your office the day after I was released from the Swedish American Hospital mental health ward after I was detained for trying to end my life only a few days earlier. This was the second stay at the Swedish American mental ward in two (2) weeks.

I was CLEARLY not in a rational frame of mind at the signing of any of these contracts. And I came into your office that first day for ONE (1) reason if you remember and are in least honest.

It all would not had been so bad if I had not been treated - essentially by you, Mr. Crosby - so incredibly poorly at essentially each and every step of this so-called "process" of being represented by the Crosby Law Firm. Given the right opportunity, I can easily cite a large number of various incidents that support my accusation.

I will mention though, with extreme resentment every time I recall this event, how you treated me, what you said to me, that one Friday when I came into the office in probably the worst frame of mind I had been in since this nightmare began (other than the frame of mind I was in when I was literally planning to take my own life) thinking that someone had impersonated me in my deceased mother's toxicology report to the Kane County over the phone. The Kane County Coroner listed the communications he had had with Sandra J. Malloy's "children." And it seemed to me, if you remember, that someone had impersonated me at xxxxxxxx phone number. This thought further troubled me to a TREMENDOUS extent.

Furthermore, you never gave me back my recently deceased mother's toxicology report, even though I had requested that you do. Please return this to me too.

And on this day, this particular Friday, you coerced me to sign ANOTHER $2,800.00 contract. In my "right" mind I would have continued the course without representation from the Crosby Law Firm ESPECIALLY since the repeated "flat rate" had "fine print" I was not in the proper frame of mind to comprehend and understand at the time.

When I finally felt the NEED - in my mental anguish - to literally raise my voice at you to get your attention to ask a single damned question as you were taking ANOTHER $2,800.00 from me, do you remember your response? I certainly do.

You said the following, virtually verbatim: "Look at how I'm dressed! I'm not even supposed to be here."

No kidding, you actually said that on that day, under those specific circumstances.

I'll give you ten (10) business day for your response. And please respond in writing. No phone calls. Your firm never returned my telephone calls in the past when I requested it, so we now will stick to hardcopy for record sake.

Very incompetent attorneys that have no interest in helping the client. They do the least amount of work and charge for time that they don't put in. They worked on my case for 2 months and made it worse. I went to another attorney that worked hard on my case, got it dismissed, and my record was expunged, and they charged a lot less.

I cannot thank the staff at Crosby Law Firm enough for what they had done for me. Zachary Townsend was absolutely amazing and did everything promised with the case. I wasted 8 months with another lawyer in town before I found Mr. Townsend. Within 4 court appearances Mr. Townsend had the case cleaned up and completed. Mr. Townsend was patient and caring. He listened to my needs and wants and went out of his way to communicate with me and make me feel comfortable.
