I like it cause its. Fun to swim. And the employees are all nice and it is a very clean place i have been to other rec center that are dirty and nasty. And stinky and its got a nice weight room and indoor and outdoor pools the outdoor pools better just because there's slides diving boards the beautiful sunrise indoor you got your sauna diving boards and a hot tub and a kiddie pool

Good facilities, clean and well kept. Rates could be slightly lower especially for non residents as it is the best rec center for the cities adjacent to Cottonwood Heights as well. Overall, awesome place to work out, play sports, or skate with friends and family.

Called to ask if they had a power rack. They said yes. Came to work out, no power rack. No bench press either. Also weights were left on bars everywhere. Nobody reracks, and the weights that made it back to the racks were all mixed up. I guess it would be good if you like to work out on machines like a munson. But nobody was wiping them down after using so enjoy your ringworm. They need a little bit of management in the fitness room.

I play racquetball here weekly and the courts are in pretty good shape and readily available. The staff is friendly too. My only real complaint is that I cannot buy a resident membership because I live outside the area. My argument for this is that my neighborhood county rec center does not have racquetball courts.

Just bought a new membership after being out of the area for a while. It's getting a bit run down and their pool hours and rules are so chaotic, even the staff can't keep them all straight. Makes for a frustrating visit, but the facility has some nice options available.

Great family-oriented place with lots of options. Great pool-play area for kids and a nice swimming pool for adults. Clean and orderly.

The area used for youth football is pretty small but all and all it's a good sized park. It needs more parking availability too.

Really nice rec center with a fantastic indoor & outdoor pool. Professional size ice rink as well. The staff are nice & the rates are very affordable for residents.

Went to the fitness room twice so far and had terrible experiences both times. After coming from Planet Fitness and VASA, the age and the low availability of the machines is more inconvenient than I could have imagined. I always came during the slowest hours, near closing time, but there was always someone or a group hogging the machines in the corner with the bench-press. I've also had a person ask me if she could finish her set after I just completed my first set of cable exercises when she was clearly using a different machine just before. I thought she would use the cable machine and said sure but then she did a bunch of dumbbell exercises in that space. Why not just do them in a different area???? I also used the track and it was hot and stuffy.. the main lobby was cooler.

Pool shuts down daily. Usually a kid throws up and they evacuate the pool for an hour. Happens every day. I totally understand shutting down the pool while the system cleans itself, but could you at least give a courtesy rain check or money back.

I'm thankful they have a rink, and that it's so close to my home. However, for those going to play hockey, beware that the locker rooms are frightfully small. So small, in fact, that you have to rush to get dressed so others can squeeze in after you. Actually, sometimes people will just give up on that nightmare and get dressed in public seating areas instead.
What disappoints me most is how the staff tends to treat female hockey players. They make terribly inaccurate assumptions about how many women are going to show up to play, and only unlock one, tiny locker room (it would fit 3 girls kinda-not-really comfortably; any more than that and you have a girl getting ready in the shower while another is hugging the sink) then when you go to ask them to open another room, they scoff and take their time getting downstairs with the key or they just forget about you altogether. I also wish they'd enforce their rules on the ice during scheduled Stick & Puck events; you know, like the one about no drills being allowed. I mean, there's a coach that frequents the rink, and he's always taking up *at least* a quarter of the ice practicing with his team, hogging a net, and just making it generally unpleasant for everyone. With the number of people paying to be there on a regular basis, it'd be cool if their employees cared a little more.
On another note, I watch many of the men's rookie league hockey games and a few of the referees who are employed by or volunteer at Cottonwood act like a bunch of 12 year olds—doing things like repeatedly trying to see who can blow their whistle the loudest, or yelling so loud at players that their immaturity and poor attitudes can be heard from the back row of the stands. Overall, if you're looking for a better hockey experience (at least), go to Acord, Murray, or the Oval.response / report this review -

Spent over $30 to go swimming, half hour after we got there a kid pooped in the kid area, a lot!! We sat waiting for over 30 while cleaning in over 100 degrees. We asked management for any type of refund because of the issues and the fact that we have to just sit in the heat waiting- they said no, not their fault. Obviously it's not- but the customer service is horrible! Definitely questioning ever going back.

It's a great place to enjoy with the whole family. Almost all recreational facilities are available for all ages. Employees are very friendly and helpful. I really enjoy this place.
But one must keep his eyes open for the timing programs that may be changed anytime.response / report this review
