I hardly eat steak at a restaurant as I have been disappointed too many times but this place has awesome fillet mignon, so tender and cooked to perfection.
The ambient is moderate.
Go there for the food!
OK, if you're coming to Conestoga for a fine, luxury atmosphere, you're coming for the wrong reason. Trust me. It's down-home all the way, and the decor looks like it fell out of 1975.
And don't come expecting variety on the menu. If you don't want a steak, you're basically limited to a burger or starvation. You've been warned.
But the steaks wow. They're among the best you'll ever find without spending two or three times as much. Easily one of the top steaks in Alabama.
I LOVE this place.
Excellent, outstanding, great! From being greeted at the front door till the time we left, everyone was super friendly. Service was lightning fast, steak was delicious. This is s must have local joint in Dothan!
Friendly staff and good steak. The downside is the side dishes are only ok. Overall I recommend. Be sure to ask for the in house steak sauce as its delicious!
Love those steaks!!! It's an old time steak house. Nothing fancy. Just great service and great food! We waited a very short time and it was fairly busy. RECOMMENDED!!!
Excellent service and great food. The ribeye steak was cooked perfectly. Our waitress was very friendly and checked on us frequently. Wish I lived in Dothan so I could eat here regularly.
Best coke in town no joke it was really bubbly! The steaks are amazing too!
Great foodoff atmosphere for what I was expecting to be a high end steak house. Seating is in bbq shack style benches and the restaurant is very tightly packed with people and tables. Very friendly staff and amazing food.
We have been coming to Conestoga for about 20 years and have enjoyed it up until 2 years ago. More times than not, the ribeye has been tough and extremely fatty, and the chopped sirloin has been burned. We have tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, but after this disaster, we will not be back.
Today, 2 tables that came in 15 minutes after us got their food first, waitress said it was because I ordered the chopped sirloin that they cook low and slow. I've never heard that before all of the times we've been there. It's never taken 45 minutes to get our food, especially on a Monday night at 4:30. If it was cooked low and slow, then why was it burned and beyond palatable.
Our waitress was really sweet and not her fault at all. She said she would go back and get the Manager. Looks like from other reviews that the Manager is no where to be found when someone has a complaint about their meal.
This is truly a shame, as this place used to be very good and we looked forward to eating here. Not any more.
The cuts of beef are tough more often than not. That's sad, because we used to love to show this place off to out of town visitors. Now, never. I would pay more for a better grade of beef. I really miss the old Conestoga. Hope they can make a comeback instead of trying to just holding on
Stopped here on a Sunday evening on our way home from Georgia. What a pleasant surprise. Our steaks were cooked perfectly and our waitress could not have been any better.
12 Oz ribeye ordered med rare was perfect. Baked potato was awesome. Broccoli was steamed to perfect texture - not raw but not soggy. I highly recommend!!!
It is a fair steak place. Really good hamburgers. The best thing they offer are the rolls. Steak is of poor quality.
Absolute best steaks in Dothan. Top three steakhouses I've ever eaten. Their cracksauce on the steaks is worth the visit alone.
We have been going to Conestoga for over 30 years. Last night (Thursday at 530) we decided to meet some friendsfor dinner. When I walked in a young lady ask me how many in my party, I stated 8, she looked at me and asked 8. She then asked if they were all here. (Not required to all be there to be seated except on Friday and Saturday) I told her all but two that we were meeting. She said they aren't here yet. She looked in the dining room across from the door, which had four tables in use, turned around and in a very short tone said it's going to be awhile before we can seat you. I was taken aback by her attitude and ask her if they didn't want us to stay. She said oh no, i just want you to know, I have just sat a table of eight and I'm having to hold the rest of my tables for reservations. (Since when can you make reservations). She again said I just want you to know it's going to be awhile. I asked how long are we talking, an hour and a half, thirty minutes, what. The the lady at the cash register chimed in and said it's going to be at least thirty minutes. The wait wasn't the issue, the way we were treated and made to feel like an imposition was. I called right there and ask Old Mill how long their wait was and we took our partyof eight and $200 dinner there. Won't have to worry about seating me again!
