A classic bar! Craft beer is the specialty and amazing bar food. Prices are quite amazing and service is always excellent. There is a family side that is completely separate from the bar side and allows a bit of privacy for a family with younglings. Vegetarian options are vast as well as the meat options. Cory, the head of the kitchen and many other things, is a master at his craft. He can make anything and make it delicious. His menu is large and really can accommodate any type of eater, including the younger ones. 5 stars from me!
This is the best place for beer in Columbus. Their variety and quality of rotations on tap and nitro is excellent. There is always something new and wonderful to try. About half the chalkboard is different day-to-day.
The food is Southern Hoosier and German-inspired, mostly. There are also fish tacos and the "Chupacabra" wrap. If you're really hungry get the jagerschnitzel.
This is probably the most "local" pub in the neighborhood if you want to get a feel for the community. There's a mug club to go along with Cheers-like congeniality and the usual suspects. Everybody on the staff is pleasant and friendly. It's a swell little joint.
This is a nice little bar with s good selection of food. There is not much seating area and service can be very slow. They make a pretty decent tenderloin.
Nice historic downtown bar. Good food!
Best friend pickles in town. Always good service, good food and reasonable prices. Largest craft beer selection in the area.
Nice selection of local craft beers featuring their own label, Powerhouse. BTW Powerhouse is Indiana's oldest brewery. Friendly wait staff. Very much a blue collar pub.
Historic bar with a great selection of their own beers (try the Diesel Oil Stout!) as well as many rotating guest brews on tap, including nitro taps. Great comfort food and bar snacks, many with a German influence. Family seating available.
Most Hoosiers are familiar with a breaded pork tenderloin. To those who aren't, please let me explain. The cook takes a portion of the pork loin and hammers it flat to tenderize the meat. To thick, it will be about as tender as beef jerky. The cook then breads the loin either in a mix of flour and spices or dips it in a batter solution. The loin is then fried to a golden brown and served on a bun. A good loin is usually about twice the size as the bun.
The CB makes one of the best breaded tenderloins I've ever had.
It is worth a stop if your travelling. They also have a family side so the kids may come as well.
This place is great for meeting new friends. Unlike the Garage, you won't leave this place with your ears ringing. Better priced food and drinks too, plus better service.
Great beer selection. Good food too.
Great experience, super friendly and accommodating staff! The beer selection was very good, food was also great!
Great place for food and a good beer! A wide variety for a bar menu and it's hard to find anything bad. The bar is small but nice and the powerhouse brews rock!
Best burger, best salad and best beer in town! This is the "Cheers" of Columbus. Even if it's your first visit, you will leave feeling like your part of the family. And speaking of family, there is also a family side so feel free to bring the kiddos. Mine loves the loaded fries.
As part of Powerhouse Brewery, Columbus Bar (or CB) always has amazing local craft beer on tap from their own brewery. Plus, they bring in guest taps and have a full bar.
