It's a nice place to take a stroll.
It’s a very small cemetery and not as pretty as some of the other cemeteries in Savannah. I would suggest visiting this cemetery with a ghost tour. That way you get the history and ghost stories to make the visit worth it.
If you like ghost stories and historical cemeteries then this place is for you. One of many beautiful Savannah parks, but this one has even more history and stories than the others. A must visit when you are in Savannah.
Great history. Well kept.
The history behind this place is just phenomenal. It's on several of the ghost tours and it is worth taking a tour and going to see in the day time as well. There is no one to give you any information as you go in the gates so it's worth knowing a little about it and doing a little research before going there and if you take a ghost tour it will also tell you a lot of the history behind this cemetery as well.
Amazing place full of the history of early Savannah. The graves are so old much of the engraving has eroded with time, but it is beautiful
Just ok. Heavy emphasis on the famous persons buried there, but most of the stones are in poor shape and hard to read. There are also very few stones left from what I assume is a very filled burial ground.
Very educational old cemetery with a lot of young people that died. Peaceful. The city should put flowers there and maintain the foliage growing on graves. It was a good place to remember a lot of revolutionary war families and people who made savannah what it is today.
Great peaceful cemetery covered in Spanish Moss and historic tombstones.
Great historical area to view, respectively. These are still graves and walking over them directly is rude.
This is a very beautiful place. It a nice place to pause and reflect, and take in the quiet while visiting Savannah .
It's an amazing place to get rooted into the history here in Savannah, GA. You can take ghost tours in town and one of the main places they take you to is this cemetery. It's beautiful and if you're a fan of ghosts it's a highly recommend place to go to. The hours are 8am-5pm actually as I just discovered today. They're not from 8am -8pm
Nice little historic visit right before an appointment in town. I visited and took photos around the whole area within 20 minutes. A very relaxing, peaceful place in the middle of a busy city. A few other tourists were visiting but everyone was mindful and respectful of keeping the peace at the site. Definitely a nice place to get away for a bit.
100 year old gravestones amazing how the maintain the lands they defiantly care great historical land mark.
Great place for a walk with lots of historical markers. Friendly security and interesting neighborhood.
Cool historical cemetery to walk through in Savannah. Compact enough to quickly view on the way to other locations.
Eerie and beautiful at the same time. This cemetery was the first official one in town, but the bodies of Savannah's dead are still interred even beneath the sidewalks outside its gates. Check out some of the history and the old tombstones.
