Wonderful product. Loyal customers. But, I was quite disappointed that their website made no mention that they would be closed Thanksgiving week. I specifically checked it before driving six miles to get there. Seems like this would be a simple common courtesy for those who frequent and support this business.

Always in and out very fast with outstanding soup every time! I only wish they had expanded hours of operation.

When the cooler seasons are getting closer, I get happier knowing Collins will soon be open and I get to visit Dan. I've been going to Collins for about 8 years now and I am disappointed and not surprised when I get soup or chowder from anywhere else and the verdict is that Collins still holds my heart. This place has my recommendation 110%. Calling ahead to place your order makes your stop very quick and helps to elevate some congestion when visiting. I tell everyone about it whenever it is on my mind or if someone mentions soup. It's like the soup nazi from Seinfeld. My stomach growls thinking about their Italian Wedding or their maple corn bread. The quality is definitely there and the taste is worth any price. I can honestly give my word that you will not be let down. Just be aware that this place will ruin what you think of any other restaurant's soup, chowder, and home-cooked dinners. I could eat here everyday for the rest of my life and be more than happy. The fact that they are not open year round and their limited hours make them even more desired and demanded. I love the staff but I live the food even more. My favorite takeout and catering restaurant, hands down. If I could give them more than five stars I wouldn't hesitate.

First time and I just took a chance on the soup of the day "Haddock Chowder ." WOW, ONE OF THE BEST EVER! And living in New England for 40 years that's a feat. I also got the "Hungarian mushroom" and it was also excellent. Can't wait to go back.

    Hungarian Mush a Must!
I've been here once (and it's definitely a place for take out) but I'm lucky enough to have a man who loves me ? What does that have to do with this soup kitchen, he brings it home. I've been fortunate to try several of the soups here and the are all amazing. The Hungarian Mushroom soup knocks the ball out of the park and I could probably live on this soup alone. You HAVE to give it a try, I promise you won't be disappointed.

I look forward to their reopening every fall! The soup is just amazing! Don't forget to grab the fresh bread too. The owner is very friendly, but likes to move the line along ;) this place is a hidden gem
