Beautiful park and falls. I loved the hiking and walking trails. A must see.

This is a beautiful park— it’s so beautiful that I often question if it is really a part of Indiana! Situated right along the Ohio River, border lining Kentucky, is this little slice of heaven.
There is a great deal of hiking that is available here. Before you hit the trails, be sure to go up to the Inn and take in the breathtaking view that you stumble upon on the back side of the building. It is really a pretty sight to see.
Also, make sure you go to the fire tower (or something like that) that is right by the inn and take in the really cool views there, as well. Beware of the copperheads!
The only thing that really makes you bummed out is while you’re enjoying this beautiful view, as you’re looking out and about your view is obstructed by an ugly coal plant or some factory of some sort.

Definitely another of the Indiana State Parks that is worth a visit! We stayed 3 nights and enjoyed our room overlooking the Ohio River! The food at the Inns Dining Room was good quality, we loved the soup and salad bar and wish we could have experienced the Dinner Buffet!
We hiked most of the trails and saw all the falls! The pool and spa are both exceptionally nice and the Fireplaces and places to puzzle and read are very relaxing! The Inn was cold on Sunday when we arrived; people were in jackets and coats, even in the Dining Room! The fireplaces were finally lit the next morning and it made quite a positive difference!!
We will go back there in the future, it was a very good get away for a senior couple!!!response / report this review -

Great trails, beautiful. It would be nice if they had maps along the trail. Also, the best we could tell is Trail 2 runs along the river and you have to cross the river to stay on it - it's not marked and it's confusing.

Good:
- small fire tower provides a nice observation area
- good variety of trails
- park provides some great views overlooking cliffs/falls; some take some effort to walk/hike to, while others are very easy and accessible
- clean and attractive facilities for a picnicking
- cut grass fields for various ball games
- cool feature: an old railroad tunnel you can walk through (flashlight needed, low ceiling, rocky surface requires a little caution)
Cautions:
- just be aware that you’ll only see good waterfalls after a good rain; otherwise just be prepared to enjoy small trickles or dry cliffs
Park is pretty compact, yet it offers so much. Highly recommended!response / report this review -

We love Clifty Falls. It's well maintained. It has nice shelters. It also has great hiking trails that view the falls. It's beautiful all year.

We had such a great time. The park is so beautiful. The nature center was fun and the tower was a nice little hike with a great view. Wonderful places for kids to explore and nice areas for picnics. We love this state park!

Loved our experience but it was a bit dry. Park Ranger recommended we come back after a good 2-3 day rain. The park ranger guided tours were fascinating and the campground wonderful. Can't wait to go back (after a good rain).

Beautiful hiking! Lovely park. We drove through the campground with intentions of camping here in the future. Although nice, I believe the park should invest in some modernization soon. Great place for exploring.

Great Place, Trails for all experience levels. Great scenic views. Better bring your camera for some of the amazing waterfalls. Spring and early summer are best for heavy waterflow on the falls but it also makes some rocks on the trails fairly slick.

Beautiful place to visit especially after a rain storm the waterfalls are Gorgeous. If you love to hike this place is for you it has lots of trails and cave you can walk through. After a long day at the park stay at the Clifty Inn it's a great a place with a Restaurant and of course gift shop. I really enjoyed my trip

One of my favorite places on earth. Time goes by so slow here. It is a great place to relax. Beautiful waterfalls everywhere. Great hiking trails. Great views and wildlife. We woke up one morning and a baby deer was hiding in the grass next to out tent. It was great!!

We visited in March before leaves came back on trees and the views of the falls were great! You can see a lot in just a couple hours and not too much walking. We stuck to the main trails which were fairly well maintained and don't require any more than comfortable sneakers. Be prepared for stairs though. There are also quite a few longer hiking trails for the more adventurous. There is a restaurant/inn at the south end and a picnic area at the north end as well as some other pavilions in-between for gatherings.

Excellent state park. Really easy to navigate the trails and they were all top notch. Unlike some parks, they weren't forced at all. They flowed very nicely with the terrain and you just cannot beat Trail 2. Its rough, rugged, and challenging but if you're well prepared (good hiking shoes, comfortable clothes, water bottles) then you're in for a treat. You can't go during the rainy season because the trail is the creek bed of Clifty Creek but it's worth it when you can. Rock hopping across the creek is the best part and really gets you thinking (or wet!). Certainly not a trail for everybody. The Clifty Inn was a great place to relax by a fire after a long day and even grab a bite to eat in the restaurant. Well worth the trip!
