  Great little towm. Neat local stores to shop at. Good restaurants. Kalona brewery restaurant is a good place to eat and have drinks.

  We had a lovely time visiting Kalona with our four young children (7,5,4, and 2). We found everyone to be very hospitable, and the City Park was full of playground equipment and very safe and well-maintained. There's a large historical village which is closed Sundays (so plan accordingly) but is a great educational place to go!

  This is a wonderful park with large picinic shelters public restrooms, plenty of rides for the kids, sand pit volleyball court, baseball fields and the public pool and campground are also right there. It 's within walking distance of historic downtown Kalona.
