I can’t say enough good things about this place. The humanity here is amazing. I have a terminally ill, handicapped dad who visited and rented a boat from here to fish. My dad didn’t catch any fish and was really bummed out. Greg offered to take him for a very low fee and showed my dad where the fish were. My dad had so much fun and we plan on visiting again.

There were 6 spiders and a scorpion in the unit. There frequent but small power outages. WiFi was in and out. Other than that I enjoyed the stay with family during the offseason.

We have stayed at several houses here before, but the Southern Manor is large enough to acomadate all 15 members of our family with plenty of room. The amenities are nice and the water is full of fish!

Fantastic resort with tons to do. Despite being a warm July day, the lake was much less crowded than the lakes back home in Atlanta.

Best resort in Alabama. Gorgeous accommodations--beautiful pools, and we come yearly. It's our family's favorite vacation spot!

The resort may seem very nice but the people who operate it are not. The site contains two businesses, the resort and a watercraft rental business which is open to the public. I and my wife and two childern went to the other business Memorial Day and rented some jet skiis and planned to enjoy the lake. Bad idea. Within 30 min the "resort" employees showed up and demanded we leave the premises immediately. Why? -- not because we did anything wrong or cause any problem, simply because we were patronizing the watercraft business, not the resort. Rather than welcoming us to perhaps spend money at their bar/restaurant or offering a pass so we could stay while some were out riding and others were waiting, they were extremely nasty. It is unfortunate when complete incompetents run a business. We had been discussing how nice the "resort" looked and were thinking about adding it to our list of places to go on weekends. Instead of creating a new customer, the fools that run the place insured we will never return and we will make sure we advise everyone we know to avoid this place. Although it is terrible to see businesses fail in this tough economy, I cannot help but root for these fools to fail. There are other options on the lake so avoid this one.
